The temple was built in Jerusalem. It was right where the Muslims have their temple now. When you see a picture of the Gold-Topped building in Jerusalem, it was right where that building sits today.
Turns out, it was considered a holy place for both Islam, and Christianity (and Judaism)

Oh,there were a lot of temples around back then. The rabbis had a real industry going. Some were better than others (the temples I mean,not the rabbis),but they were all extremely ostentatious,encrusted with jewels,lot of gold tile,stuff like that. I know,kind of reminds you of a Jewish suburb. By the way,half of Jerusalem is in israel so your question doesn't make sense.
