Wicca and Satanism (NOT Devil Worship, they are two very different religions believe it or not) share much in common as far as I know. if you want I would suggest www.joyofsatan.org and read up on the ways of Spiritual Satanism, you may find it quite interesting if you found reading about Wicca interesting. As for the special connection, it is likely a Guardian he had connected with. Some deity's that you may have heard of are Egyptian Gods, whom are part of a Demon hierarchy, known as the Goetic Demons. I believe that Greek Gods as well are within that same hierarchy. Norse Gods are not, I believe. It is likely that this Christopher Penczak formed a conneciton with one of the Goetic Demons or a Succubi. As I have stated, for more information, go to www.joyofsatan.org

Wikipedia has a number of excellent pages now...just search individual deity names. There are also now "Online Shrines"...the one to Sif is a good one to start with.
Instead of looking online, try woodpulp and ink. The New Larousse's Encyclopedia of Mythology should be available in your local library, as can any number of other reference books. Also, Crowley's "777 and other Qabalistic Writings" will give you an excellent resource from which to design rituals in honor of dozens of deities.

There is a really beautiful web site for Goddesses called Spiral Grove. It is a fountain of information about many Goddesses, presented not just with pictures, but with information, background, history, archetype associations, and the site has some of the most colorful graphics and spiritual music! Just beautiful, it is like entering a sacred grove, you can meander around to so many places there, I haven't even finished exploring half of what is there, it is really vast. I hope you will your deity spirit there.
Bright blessings! )0(

As a Wiccan for over 20 years, it has been my experience that you don't find deities, they find you.
However, if you can find a resource that gives name and CULTURE, you should have enough info to get the rest.

The following are good pages for Goddesses:
http://www.goddessgift.com/goddess-myths/goddess-myths.htm
http://www.goddessmyths.com/
Unfortunately I don't have similar pages handy for Gods.
You might want to try meditation, asking for a particular Goddess or God suited to you to come to you. Other than that, I'm afraid that a lot of reading lies ahead of you; try your local library for books about the mythology of various cultures.
Good luck in your search.
EDITED TO ADD: Hah... try this site:

Do you mean *spiritual guides*?
Each one of us has one or a few.
You can visit Dick & Tara Sutphen's website. There are cds that help you get in touch with your spirit guides through self-hypnosis.
http://www.dicksutphen.com
The reason why we need to get in touch with our spiritual guides through hypnosis, is that our brain waves function in Alpha wavelengths in wakening state.
To attract such contacts, we have to tune into the vibration of *their* level where we don't have our *ego* hinderance.
Theta and Delta wavelength frequencies work best to tune into such vibrations.
Have you learnt to meditate before?
Deep meditation can bring us to the theta and delta level of brainwave frequencies as well. But that means years of experiences, with the help of a master.
With the help of guided meditation by hypnosis, you can reach such states, if you're 100% surrendered to concentrate into what is guided.
Also, check http://www.innerexpansion.com
You can email me if you have further questions or doubts.
