In less 'dictionary language', it is how we act around and with other people.
Most of the time it translates to being pleasant to eachother, holding a door or saying thank you etc... Sometimes it's more of a matter of hygiene, not picking your nose, scratching your butt etc.
A few things are a bit old-fashioned, left over from some other time. For example men holding a door for women, well, I say if a woman gets to the door first and/or the man has his hands full, it makes a lot more sense if she opens it for him than the other way around, no matter what the etiquette rules may say! But most of it does make sense and it's good to be considerate of each other.
