For research purposes I'd like to see testimonials of actual autism sufferers, different types/levels of affliction. Can you recommend a good website or the titles of some documentaries or real movies. I'm looking into developing alternative treatment plans with some graduate students......we may have a major breakthrough in the works

Well, I'll tell you two things before I tell my story: I don't want a cure and people on autism websites don't want to be your research project! Anyways, I think autism gives me a unique perspective on life and allows me to relate to other people with unique minds. It does impair my social skills but I have taken classes and read books for that. I can narrow in well on one interest too. (Over the years it's been Outer Space, English sayings, the Matrix, and currently researching autism) I had hyperlexia as a child. (I learned to read around 2 or 3) So, I like being me, and that includes being autistic.
Some books are:
Nobody Nowhere and Somebody Somewhere by Donna Williams
Thinking in Pictures by Temple Grandin
Life Behind Glass by Wendy Lawson

Also check out the movies:
Mozart and the Whale (also a book by Jerry Newport)
Normal People Scare Me

Dr. Temple Grandin, a professor at Colorado State, has written and spoken extensively about her experiences as a person with autism. She has her own website www.templegrandin.com . I think that they still have her recent interview on the Rosie O'Donnell show available on the website as well. She also has recently put out another book about her experiences as a person with autism relating to people who do not have autism. Also her story is the one that Oliver Sacks's book, An Anthropologist on Mars, is named after. She is 59 years old and has high-functioning autism, not PDD or Asperger's. Good luck. We certainly do need more treatments for working with autism.

There is a national web site for people with autism. Also look for information about Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism but the person is usually very intelligent. Also try www.webmd.com There is also a web site for the National Mental Health Alliance

Dr Amy Yasko out of Colorado is doing work related to autism that involves genes that cause detox problems, methelation and infections such as strep and clostridia diff.

Treatment is with herbs, vitamins and supplementing the methalation pathways to bypass mutations in the pathway.

My son was never formally diagnosed with autism but started showing sign at 15-18 months (walking on toes, flapping hands, no eye contact or other communication, repetitive play and in his own world.) After searching, we found doctor Amy

He is now almost 4 years old and after 18 months on her program , completely normal and non distingishable from his peers.

He is talking with only minor speech problems (fronting ie fruck instead of truck, tup instead of cup). He is reading small words, can count to 30 or so, know all colors, the alphabet...... He is ready for kindergarten but has 1 more year to wait :-)

I don't know if that is what you are looking for but there are tons of recovered childern thanks to Dr Amy.

Her web site is www.autismanswer.com

Hello Lance. It will be very useful if you did a research on the spiritual explanation on autism and mental illnesses. I read once that autism was caused by spirits. Spirits that would get attached to the baby when he/she was born. A little research is done about this topic and there is only the scientific explanation that has not find the solution

These days you can easily learn how to sing on the web . You can find here the best online singing video lessons:

http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=541

The videos are very easy to follow and to my surprise extremely helpful even for advanced singers. For beginners I would have to say this is a gold mine. I was able to improve my singing, voice tone and range in just under two weeks and I am an advanced musician... Before I wanted to go to a singing teacher but that would have cost me over 1500 bucks .... every month! It's definitely too much for my possibilities! An online course is much cheaper, and I reached great results in a very short time! I strogly reccomend it to anyone that want to improve his/her singing skills and voice tune! I Hope it helps!

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.

Use a reverse phone lookup to:
Get the identity of an unknown caller.
Identify an area code.
Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.
Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.

People who plan their weekly meals tend to be more successful at losing weight than those that don’t. Plan your dishes to add healthy carbs such as fairly sweet potato and wholegrain pasta, vegetables and lean proteins, buy each of the ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to consume out or order in.
