By what means did God's comfort come?

Alright...I am one of those people who attends church, but rarely prays at home.

When my oldest child was born, my husband and I were having serious concerns about our finances. We needed both incomes so I was going to have to return to work when our baby was only 12 weeks old!! :( My husband spent my entire maternity leave searching for a new job with a higher salary. He went to more interviews than I can remember. Anyway...no results. We were so stressed, I was crying ALL the time! One night it dawned on me that I had never turned to God for help (which is typical for me) I decided that I was going to pray to God to help us find a solution. Later that evening I confided to my husband that I had prayed for us (he is not the praying type)

The next morning a good friend of ours from college called to visit with my husband. We hadn't talked to him in about a year. During the conversation my husband mentioned he had been interviewing around for a new job. Our friend told him he had just taken over as a store manager and was looking to hire a new salesperson...the salary was MORE than mine and my husbands salaries combined! My husband accepted the job on the spot and I was able to stay home to raise our son!

You could chalk it up to chance if you want...but I know it was the answer to my prayer!

At a time when I didn't know what to believe, I experienced comfort in God when my 6 year old nephew died. I wanted to believe this little boy was safe and happy in Heaven. I needed something more powerful than a human to comfort me.

Yes indeed!
Nine years ago, my youngest child died in a tragic accident.
He was 12 years old.
Just days before - he became a Christian, not knowing what was to happen. This is a tremendous comfort to me, knowing that all is well with his soul!
Also for the time that followed up until now, I have known God's comfort in many ways. Through His Word the Bible, - He has given me beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness - is just one example.
I have never come away not comforted by God when I have turned to Him for comfort.
I have been comforted also through other people, which God has sent to me just at the right time.
I have been comforted by reading books of Christians who have lost loved ones, and see who the Lord has seen them through their time of bereavement.
God is faithful

There were times when I didn't even think about God and for that I ask His forgiveness. I knew there was something missing in my life, I took that step and went back to church and with the help of God, family & friends, my life is so full. I realize now that all those bad times, God was carrying me through. In this life we don't always get the answers that we want, when we want them, they will come in God's time, my trust is in Him.

Sometimes, I'm just feeling down and have no one to talk to....I talk to God. And he is the biggest comfort there is.

I have peace. I don't get worried as He has taken care of "it".

If people are using God as an excuse: "He works in mysterious ways" then they are guilty of cognitive laziness.

No. He's been conspicuously absent.
