Just curious as to whether or not a state (ie: government run) university falls under school zone law. Thanks.

No, I'm not talking about traffic law. I'm referring to "drug free school zone laws," (ie: laws that increase the penalty for drug procecutions in school zones). I'm writing a paper on school zone law, and someone brought it to my attention that the "drug free school zone" law applies to state universities, which seemed curious to me considering the law is geared toward keeping drugs out of the hands of minors. Regardless, let me know what you know.

Yes for the purpose of both drug free and firearm possession, a college or university is a school zone

If you are talking about traffic laws, in general no. Many campuses have restricted acces and special rules (speed limits, etc.) but they aren't considered "school zones" as such.

Mine isn't/. We run our own independent police department on campus. Same was in the community college that I attended prior to this one. It's in Caifornia.
