Because religion is based on a good vs evil dicotomy. We cant have a good holiday without the evil eggs.

Deviled eggs just go with springtime to me.
Eggs have a religion connotation as far as Easter but it stems from ancient times and back then had nothing to do with Jesus rising.
Anyway, I take deviled eggs to every potluck, holiday dinner (religion or no) and a lot of times just make them to have at home. I make really good ones (so I've been told) and we just love to eat them.

I was just wondering that myself. I have seen a LOT of hard boiled egg questions the last two days. Not sure, really. All I know that my mom is making them too. :) I like deviled eggs once a year or so, so I guess is this is OK. As long as they have plenty of mustard in them to cut the yolky taste. (Not a huge fan of eggs...)

I do not know of any significance of the egg nor deviled eggs in the Christian faith.
In fact, eggs are often used in pagan religious practices to indicate fertility. This is part of the blending of Christian religious festivals (Easte) w/ pagan ones centuries ago. It's a shame, really.
I do know I love me some good deviled eggs, though! :-D

Tradition... it was just handed down from one generation to the
next, back in the day, who dared to question anything...
