She should be fed canned and dry chow that is made for kittens. This has a higher protein and fat content, which she will need for a healthy pregnancy and healthy kittens. If she does not receive enough nutrition, her body will rob itself to provide what the fetuses need, and she will be in poor condition when giving birth.
Continue feeding her this food until the kittens are weaned. It takes food to make food, and when she is nursing she will need the extra calories to produce milk.
I give pregnant cats all they want to eat. They get canned food three times a day, and there is dry chow out all the time.
With the current crisis over tainted food, you may feel more comfortable with a vet formula, however to my knowledge, there have been no reports in the breeding community over Purina Pro Plan Kitten, Iams Kitten or the Royal Canin Kitten formula.

I have a cat called gizmo and I have had her for about 5 years and she is a breeding cat and I talked to my vet when I started breeding her and he said to feed her kitten food because all the food that your cat eats some of that will go to the kittens and also if you give a kitten adult cat food then u might as well give and new born baby a bit of steak when it is born the food that my vet recommends are felix kitten food and asda or morrisons make so good luck to you and your new kittens

Kitten food is definitely the best for your pregnant cat to eat, and she should continue to stay on it while nursing. Any high quality brand will do (stay away from grocery store brands), but some of the best are Iams, Hills and Purina.

My cats are pregnant right now too, but I am going to get them spayed before they have them. I feed them Whiska's dry cat food about 2 cups for both cats and I have chickens also so I give them an egg in there food ever other day.

Kitten food is the best for pregnant cats. They need the extra fat and nutrition. They need to eat kitten food until kittens are weaned.

I would recommend a fatty food like Science Diet. You can find it at Costco.
