No, there is no way out. It`s one of those Mother things. You may want to talk with your mother and tell her you have nothing to hide and you would like to come to her with conversation and not her asking. Tell her that you love her very much but she has to have trust in you. But a true Mom is always going to be protective. Take it from a Mom whose kids are 45, 42, 41, 37 and 30. GOOD LUCK

very normal, it is our duty as mothers to be nosey and question what you guys are doing, we need to make sure you all turn out well, we wish you would tell us stuff sooner rather that later when it may be too late it is not distrust, we are just worried about you from the time you are born till the time we die we want to make sure you are happy, have great experiences and that life is not treating you to harshly because we know it can be rough, teenagers no matter what generation have it hard and we love you guys enough to ensure you have the best even if we annoy the heck out of you

Your Mom sounds like she's normal. Next time she ask you a question regarding the prom; ask her about her own prom.

Some peoples proms were a disaster, others the time of their life. Sometimes a person can relive their experienced prom vicariously through the experience of another person bringing all sorts of fond memories.

Yeah its normal. Drives you crazy though don't it? No there is no way out of it. You have a very good mother. Your mother wants to know what you do. She cares about you and loves you. Tell your mother that you know she cares about you, but you would rather tell her things when it is right for you to tell her. If she asks you a question, just tell her that you will tell her everything later. In a nice way of course.

Your Mom just want to be a part of your life, you are 17 and shortly you will be out the home and she just want to have a relationship. Why don't you just share some things about your life that you are comfortable about with her.

all mom's are like that. she isn't being nosy, she's trying to communicate. 17 is a tough age. i'l bet she is interested in your life and wants to make sure everything is okay with you.give her a break. talk to her. let her know about prom, friends, teachers, school. why is it you feel awkward? you don't have to tell her intimate details just let her know about your day. if it really bothers you that much, tell her but, don't get in her face about it. that only makes it worse.

Yes, it is normal. I do it to my kids. Tell her what she wants to know. That is the only way to get her to be quiet and leave you alone.
