Listening to bigoted people preaching from a book of fiction, translated and then RE-translated, then "adapted", modernised, re-worded and then "revised".
Pray for Katrina victims, sayeth the nitwit - presumably in the hope that the God that apparently caused the problem might now like to step up and sort it out again.
Of course, sod all happened.
So, while the good sheep listen to the rhetoric and then hand over their donations to the worlds richest landowners, people who are a shade more practical actually get on and do the work.
Church is useful for people who are old and lonely I guess, but you can "communicate with your chosen God" just as easily at home - and in peace and quiet.
I wouldn't mind quite so much but for the screaming hypocrisy of so many church ministers.
Why do I not attend church? Because it offers no truths, no comfort, no inspiration to me. Religion is the main cause of war (and thus premature death) the world over - I hate it with a passion.

I don't believe in any supernatural being so spending time in a place based around the worship of one strikes me as a big waste.
Why doesn't it count? Why would an Atheist attend church? Going to church is not the default, you need a reason to go to church, and an Atheist doesn't have one.

Not judging, but atheism has churches?
I stopped going because I don't feel anything. Why should I go to a building where people just want to talk about what I have on (people say that God said come as you are, but yeah right), and I don't really agree with some of the things the Bible says. It's very contradicting.

I'm not a Christian. I don't particuarly like the religion, and I have no interest in attending the worship of a view of God I don't subscribe to. I'll visit churches and cathederals if they're architecturally or historically interesting, but not for the religion.

The main reason the Christians stop going to church is the hypocrisy. Satan has succeeded in infiltrating the church and many have been hurt by it. We stay away to avoid being rejected, judged and hurt.

Well, there's a lot of hypocrisy, for one, and it's like being in high-school all over again. Everyone gravitates towards their cliques where gossip is rampant; fashion is everything, and the holy-than-thou attitude is just remarkable - in a bad way.
I think I've about covered what I've experienced, and why I stopped going.

I'm a rational person, so attending church would be anathema to me. I doubt you'll put that in your sermon though...

I do attend church, and won't miss it for anything!
Some don't because they don't put God first place in their lives, and they are too busy doing other things.
Some don't because they have lost their desire. They fail to remember that we are told in Acts not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
