thats up to you -- but you might want to check with your states laws -- if you should ever split and the state goes after him for child support -- as soon as the court determines paternity -- his last name will go on the childs birth certificate

If you think the father will be an active part of the child's life, then tradition supports using the father's surname.
However, you could use yours so you don't always have to give two different names (I was married, but I kept my maiden name, now I'm divorced and my ex has died, but our son still has his last name). If you and the father do get married in the future, you can always change the child's last name.

The fathers. It is what is right unless he bails before the baby is born. In that case then he does not deserve to have a child.

Me and my daughters Biological father were in love and never married but you want it to have ur last name incase anything goes wrong. The child will always know his/her daddy weather your with someone else or not... My daughters got my last name (maiden) Im married to someone else & so is her biological father.. Its best for it to have womans last name till marrige in case things go wrong.. Like I said the child will always know his daddy!... But its up to you hun good luck..

You can name this one after him and then maybe the next one after you. Or vice-versa, alot of people do that. Some people even combine them or know a days kids have 4 names.

With his. Not just for legal reasons, but for your child to always know who their father is, even if he's not in the picture later.

If you plan on getting married I would use his name. If not then use yours. Or you can use both, yours first then his. then you don't have to choose.
