I went to church all my life every Sunday and Wednesday and have finally realized how ridiculous the idea is. Yes, I believe that Jesus was a good man of his time but nothing more than that. There has been so much of the "Bible" destroyed to make a single concept to control the people so why does everyone believe it if it's not even all there. I believe that the Bible is nothing more than a set of good ideas for people to follow by to control the people. Could anyone give me any more evidence without using the word bible or faith? Thanks.

I believe in God for many reasons. The gospel message is true. Sometimes I fail trying to live it, but it works. The benefits it promises are true. The best promise of the gospel is the life after this. I can't wait to experience that.

Peace and every blessing!

You, of course, can't be forced to believe anything! That's how God made us -- with free will. Pretty cool, eh? He might be the only one in the Universe who isn't trying to manipulate you.

You have also discovered that the Bible is a good book but that people use it to bully you, and that is called spiritual abuse. And lot's of religions have spiritual abuse, Christian, Jew, or Muslim.

The Bible is actually the story of God with the Jews and then the New Testament is the history of Jesus and the beginning of the church. A book can't control you, but people can use the book to try and control you.

So you have run into control and abuse and you're mad -- and you have a right to be mad. It is wrong. Right now you aren't in a mood to even consider the claims of the Bible or whether Jesus was man or God - who could blame you.

In all of this just remember, it is more important to realize that God believes in you, even if you don't believe in Him. How's that for fair treatment? If only more of His followers could act like Jesus taught them to be...

You're right. There is no God. The idea IS ridiculous and I'm sorry you spent all that time at church. People didn't like the idea that death is the end ... that's the reason there are religions. Religions only prevailed this long because of blind faith. Nobody questioned it. But this a new age. Science is taking over and more and more people will think the way you're thinking right now and. Because we are a complementary side of God.
We are by nature a seeking pleasure living entities, we want pleasure, and when we try everything in this world that can give pleasure and happiness, and then realize that there is some thing that is not right and complete then we start to inquire if there is something else. That is the beginning of human life, and this feeling is not awaken for everyone, because everyone is in illusion thinking themselves comfortable in any condition they are, like hogs eating stool or a worm in the stool, if your take a worm out of the stool, immediately goes back to it, that is the situation of the most human beings.
God is the reservoir of all pleasure, and He is the ultimate destiny of the pleasure which we are hankering for.
Until we reestablish our relationship with Him, we will continuing suffering without any relief.
If you exist, i exist and everyone exists, why not God?

If it helps a person to believe in God, then they should. I don't think criticizing their belief does anybody any good.

I think religion helps zillions of people.

I am an agnostic, because I just don't know, because I am not a man of faith. I can't take that step that says, "I believe." But I think I am a good person, and I'm happy with this.

Your question is interesting, but what if you are wrong?? I would not like to be in your shoes when you come face to face with him after your dead and gone .......I think you have forgot that he gave us free will so if you deny his existence and credibility and teachings I would not want to be you on judgment day.....You can choose to believe or not believe but you might want to reconsider if I were you.........I believe you are a doubting Thomas.......

thanks for the question.my friend i undestand you very well, but you must note that there is no other way of telling about God except through bible.that is the only source he gave to us about him and for you to be enlighted in it must have hope and faith.let me ask you a question asurming you came to this world without seeing your grand mom and dad.and your your parents has only two ways of telling you about them which is showing you there picture and the way they lived are you going to belive them? That is the same way God is we only belive through faith and it is working out.please try God one more time and belive with your heart and aswel thrust in his words through bible.thanks.

In Jesus dwells ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col.2:9 below) -

o God the Father
o The Holy Spirit of God the Father
o The Word of God the Father

The only begotten son of God the Father (Jn.1:14 below), Jesus (the Word - Jn.1:1, Jn.1:14 below), His beloved Son (Matt.3:17 below), was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matt.1:20 below).

It is God the Father who conceived in Mary (blessed among women) His very Word through His very Holy Spirit (Matt.1:20 below).

Col.2:9 For in him dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Jn.1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, (Matt.1:20, Matt.3:17 below)) full of grace and truth.

Jn.1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (Re.1:6, Lk.1:47 below).

Re.1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God (Jn.1:1 above) AND his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Lk.1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour (Jn.1:14, Jn.1:1, Re.1:6 above).

Lk.1:68 Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

Matt.3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son (Matt.1:20 below), in whom I am well pleased.

Matt.1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost (Jn.1:14, Matt.3:17 above).
