An Atheist doesn't believe in God. The second isn't possible because to not need a God would mean you have to believe in one in the first pace.

Atheists are good people. We don't need a book to tell us what is right and wrong. I follow the law as laid down by the government not a book. Some Christians think that as Atheists we do not worry about the consequences of our actions, but I know that if I was to commit a crime then I would most likely go to prision. That keeps me from committing the crime. Not some story about burning in hell for eternity.

Doesnt' believe in God or Satan. Alot of people get athiest confused with satan worshippers and they aren't. They don't believe in any of it.

Religion has nothing to do with good or bad. I know so many "Christians" that are theives, liars, con artists, and geniunly bad people. I have not met one Christian that lives by the bible. I know too many that are judgemental and uses the bible and verses to benefit their own lives.

Just read all the judgements that are made on here from the god fearing people.

What makes a person bad is how they treat others around them. A good person has other people thoughts and feelings into consideration....a bad person only cares about themselves.

They don't believe in a god; the latter naturally follows from the former. It can be soft- IMO there is no god- or hard- there is no god period. I'm agnostic- the metaphysical is unknowable. Morals and ethics can exist without a religion; they tend to be correlated because religions are one way we use to work out for ourselves what is moral and ethical action. It just seems religious folk get caught up in the window dressing or use it as an excuse for their own prejudices under the guise of a "moral imperative". I, personally, have no use for a supernatural nanny to look over my shoulder and keep me in line. I can be held accountable all by myself.

An athiest is a person who does not believe in God, and
does not think they need one either. I've read the end of
The Good Book and believe me, they do need God more
than anything else in the world. Everything in the Bible has
come true so far and in the end, knowing and believing
in Him is all that matters if you want to live on in heaven forever, or if you choose not to believe and just rot
in the grave with no further hope. Yes, atheists can do good
things. There is good in all of us (God put it there). But He
gives us the brain to make our own choices.

Yes. I myself am an atheist, so i can tell you firsthand that not all of us are evil. Just like Christians, there are the good and the bad. It would be a generalization to say that all atheists were bad, or all atheists were good. And an atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God.

A religious person can be withou a need for a God as well... But that's really another matter entirely from what you seem to really be asking...

I'm not saying those you refer to don't exist, they definitely do, but the VAST majority don't fall into the catagory... I mean if someone threatened to shoot you if you ever spent a day in your life in which you didn't walk more than three steps when you were capable of it... Would that change the reason you were bothering to move?... Having coersion doesn't equal being coerced.

Am I an atheist? I believe in something but its not tied to any formal religion. I practice treating everyone I meet the same way. Accept that everyone is different. Some people may screw you but accept it as the way they are and the way it is. Treat them as you would otherwise. Not all people are able to control themselves. I don't particularly need a god. I just want to live my life and let others live theirs.

An atheist is a person who does not believe in God. Since most atheists live lives of a quality equal to that of most Christians, it would appear that they don't need God.

I think parents instill morals as best they can even before you get to the age as a child where you begin basic understanding of religion. You see parents telling their three year-olds "No, don't do that, that's not nice," and from then on that child knows (with some parental reinforncement) that it's "not nice" to hit someone, scream at someone, steal from someone, ect. And that's long before that child can make a conscious decision as to their religion. So I think those people would, probably, depending on their parents, still be good people even if they weren't Christian.

You don't understand what "good" really means. The Bible teaches that no one is good. Sure, people can do good things, but our hearts (minds, thoughts) are desperately wicked.

People can appear to be better than others...but all still need salvation thorough Jesus Christ.

Hopefully a person that is a Christian will appear as a good person. Hopefully a relationship with Jesus Christ has changed them and they are thankful for salvation therefore they serve Christ out of that thankfullness.

Good people do not really exist. There are only wicked people that can do good deeds that don't reveal their true hearts.
