Why do people believe in a so called "rapture" when the Bible says at Rev. 7:14 "So right away I said to him: “My lord, you are the one that knows.” And he said to me: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation..."
You have to be in something to "come out" of something. Noah and his family were not raptured off of this earth during the flood- God gave them instructions how to survive it.

Additionally: Look at the scripture at 1 Thess. 4:17 does not refer to all humans/Christians. Rather who was Paul talking to? His brothers that were alive at the time. Those who Jesus said had "stuck with him in his trials" Luke 22:28-30.

Let's look at those verses in Thessalonians: Moreover, brothers, we do not want YOU to be ignorant concerning those who are sleeping [in death]; that YOU may not sorrow just as the rest also do who have no hope.  For if our faith is that Jesus died and rose again, so, too, those who have fallen asleep [in death] through Jesus God will bring with him.  For this is what we tell YOU by Jehovah’s word, that we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord shall in no way precede those who have fallen asleep [in death];  because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with [the] Lord. Consequently keep comforting one another with these words.(1Thessalonians 4:13-18)Evidently some members of the Christian congregation in Thessalonica had died. Paul encouraged the survivors to comfort one another with the resurrection hope. He reminded them that Jesus was resurrected after his death; so, too, at the coming of the Lord, those faithful Christians among them who had died would be raised to be with Christ.
the ones that will be ‘caught up in the clouds,’ as stated at 1 Thessalonians 4:17 are faithful ones “who are left until the coming of the Lord,” that is, they are still living at the time of Christ’s coming. According to Romans 6:3-5 and 1 Corinthians 15:35, 36, 44 they must die before they can gain heavenly life. But there is no need for them to remain in the death state awaiting Christ’s return. They will instantly be “caught up,” “in the twinkling of an eye,” to be with the Lord.—1 Corinthians. 15:51, 52, also Revelation 14:13.

I Thessalonians 4 :13 thru 18 ..." (17) then we who are alive and left will be caught up in the clouds together with them (the previous dead) to meet the Lord in the air; and so will be with the Lord forever..."
That word "caught-up " is the Greek 'harpazo' that translates to Latin 'Rapturos" to English "Rapture".
In Revelation 4 John is told to" come up here". That's the rapture of the church.Everyone else mentioned are either saved during the tribulation and martyred or endure to the end after being saved in the tribulation. The rest stand before the White Throne and are not saved.

Lets say that 20% of Christians get rapture.
The other 80% contain a mix of people who called them selves Christian, some who did some things like read the Bible or go to church now and again, and others who were back sliden at the time of the rapture.

Many of these people who knew about Jesus will repent and turn to God and become true Christians, plus there will be many more people who will now believe also. There will be many millions of "Christians" after the rapture, and even though many will renounce their faith when facing persecution and death, many (millions) will keep their faith and be killed for it (and be one of those who come out of the great tribulation).

First off- you do realise that the chapter/verse breakdown in the Tanakh varies from the Christian scriptures, so this is actually Yehsayau 9:5. the Hebrew is: כִּי-יֶלֶד יֻלַּד-לָנוּ, בֵּן נִתַּן-לָנוּ, וַתְּהִי הַמִּשְׂרָה, עַל-שִׁכְמוֹ; וַיִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ פֶּלֶא יוֹעֵץ, אֵל גִּבּוֹר, אֲבִי-עַד, שַׂר-שָׁלוֹם. Now a correct translation for that would be: For a child has been born to us, a son given to us, and the authority is upon his shoulder, and the wondrous adviser, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, called his name, "the prince of peace." The transliterated Hebrew for the name is "Sar Sahalom"- Sar= officer/prince Shalom= peace. This refers to the fact that during the reign of Hezekiah there was peace- not that his actual name was Sar Shalom as for the KJV translation- it is laughably bad to anyone who actually reads the original Hebrew text. It was not base don the original Herew- but was a translation og th latin that was itself a translation of the Greek which was a translation of the Hebrew. Talk about a broken telephone!

The Second Coming of Christ will occur in stages. First, He will remove all Christians from the Earth, to protect them. This is called "The Rapture." The term comes from the Latin verb raptare, and the Greek word harpizo, both meaning "to be caught up" or "to be snatched up." Jesus will "snatch us" out of harm's way.

1 Thessalonians 4:15--17 According to the Lord's own word, He tells you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

1 Thes:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
I believe the ones in Revelation are the believers that become that way during the tribulation. But I believe in a pre-trib rapture.

The trouble is that a lot of religions look into the bible with the view to making confirm what they already believe. The rapture is one such teaching. Even though the bible clearly states that flesh and blood are corruptible and cannot inherit a heavenly reward. The trinity is another such teaching. Again the bible never uses this expression.
Another point to consider is that Jesus Christ taught by means of illustrations. What illustration did he use to teach the rapture? Trinity? Immortality of the soul? And on we go with many of Christendoms teachings.

Because people dont read theoir bibles.

Great point there in your question!

Also- Matt 24:29-30 clearly shows that Jesus meets us AFTER the tribulation.

In the same vein- why does everyone speak of "going to heaven" when the Bible says we will be with Jesus on earth...where He will be and rule after His return? (And where even the throne of The Father will be after the millenium)

Riku said "Rapture means take away".
The word rapture is not in the Bible.

They do not have the confidence in Jehovah to preserve them alive threw Armageddon, so the idea of a rapture was invented to take them off of the earth to a heavenly abode where they will be safe. Some teach that after wards, some will return to the earth.
How sad. Jehovah, Creator of mankind, and most of his creation doesn't feel that he has enough power to protect them when Jesus battles Satan for control over the earth.

Caught up=Rapture in Greek and Latin

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
