Last Tuesday I checked my caller ID and there was a call from the sheriff's office. At first I wasn't going to call but then something told me I had to call and ask why I received a call from them. The lady asked me if they left me a message and I said no. Then she asks for my name. I was reluctant at first but I thought I should do the right thing. So anyway I left my name and 2 days later they came to get me at 7 in the morning. now my question is...Why did they wait so long and only after they sort of engaged me through the phone? Was it some kind of ploy? I have been here all along for the 2 and a half years and they could have come to my house anytime they wanted, right? so why do they have to call me first? was it to confirm i lived here before 6 of them came to my house at 7 am like I were some kind of dangerous killer or drug dealer?

Listen Jack. I am not asking why they came to my house. I'm asking why did they come to get me only after I called them back.

Well, I didn't have any way of getting there because it's 20 miles away and I didn't have a car. I know I did wrong from breaking the law, but they shouldn't treat people who have made a couple of mistake like they are some kind of career criminal or monster.

They were making sure you were still living there. You have a warrant. They aren't obligated to tell you anything in advance.

1, 2, 6 Cops...
You got busted.
You should have taken care of the warrant.

Or not returned the call....

LOL

I think you've answered your own question. Yes, they called to verify the information indicated upon the warrant.

There is nobody but yourself to blame for being arrested after 2 1/2 years. You should have appeared in court when you were supposed to avoiding the events that you mention.

Chances are much greater that things would have gone easier yet you decide to run from the issue at hand.

I'm sure next time you'll think a bit more clearly before making this type of judgemental error!

Best wishes.

A. Prefix..Assaultive Behavior is only acceptable in times of defense.
B. Prefix...Battering rams will take out the front door if they want you bad enough.
C. Prefix....Criminal Defense Attorneys are available through many different hotliens....
Was that a car door..or a van..or an suv...Quit beating people up...You most likely have. They wanted you to either a. Turn yourself in and show credibility and integrity, or b. Make more mistakes.

NEVER answer the door when you're not expecting a guest if you have a warrant out for you.

Never return calls to the sheriff from your own phone unless it's a cellular.

you`re lucky! The COWARDS usually bust your door down at 3 am with everything but a tank and 20 cops who are more corrupt than the judge they are dragging you to be screwed by! That is,unless you have enough money to buy everyone involved, which few of us do! Once they get you in the system, they are`nt satisfied until they push you to the brink of murder! Please, let it be one of them! More, preferrably! If you`re poor, you`re guilty. Rich? Well, ask OJ! Do I sound like someone who`s been there? Hmmmm!

When they catch up with you there will be an arrest, you are already driving on a suspended license. The best thing to do is turn yourself in and get the problem straightened out. It will be easier on you if you voluntarily try to get it fixed. Contact a lawyer.

Lets see, you have a warrant for assault, because you didn't go to court and then you wonder why the police arrived at your house? Interesting thought processing.
