A friend told me that she used three really long sub sandwhiches and cut them up for her reception. Is this too cheap of an idea? We are having a small wedding/reception and a big dance. My fiance and I both love subs, as do our families. Just wondering if this is "too cheap." We'd have three different sub types. Thanks

Not at all. It's affordable, liked by most, and SO GOOD. I worked at a Subway for quite a while and many people ordered Party Subs for wedding receptions. As long as you have several different types of meats and cheeses on the subs, and put the veggies and condiments on the side, there should be no reason for complaints from your guests. I suggest transferring the subs, veggies, and condiments from the "platters" (plastic take-out boxes) that you receive from Subway onto nice, silver platters and arranging everything nicely.

Don't worry about what others will think. If you think it's a good idea, then go for it! Congratulations on your wedding.

Well for a small wedding reception it sounds good especially if you serve some fruit and cheese trays with the subs and lots of drinks. But for a small easy reception almost anything would be good. And if that's what the bride and groom want so go ahead.

It sounds like to me you are having a small wedding / reception and this is something you and your fiance would like, so go for it! If I went to a small wedding and some of the food was a sub sandwich, I just enjoy it and not be judgemental. I would say go for it! If your guest are only attending for the food, they can stay home!

I think you can do what you want. Know that some people might make comments but that's their deal if they do. I had a friend serve Mazzio's pizza and I thought that was a bit weird. What I would do is not have big subway wrappers displaying where you got it from. Put the sandwhiches on some nice serving plates and you should be good!!! Its your big day do what you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually sounds like a cool idea. Some wedding receptions have bad food (yuck).
I think it would depend on how you would serve or present the meal, will it be buffet or served to each person? If served buffet style the table should look elegant (no paper plate or Styrofoam cups). If served to each person, make it like it was a formal dinner.

I wouldn't serve them in the plastic trays, but I think it's fine. Or you could even have a build your own sandwich set up, with lunch meats, breads, & other items out buffet style. I've been to a wedding with this & it was a hit.

I love subway and would love to eat subs at a wedding...usually the more expensive food is terrible and messy.

If that's what you want then go for it!

Especially since your families love subs.

I think it's fine - I'd get a cheese tray, veggies, chips & dip, etc. to round out the buffet. Plus cake, of course!

Sounds like a great idea to me!! You could arrange them on a nice try and possibly have a few salads.

Best of luck to you!

Vicki B>>Why is it not good? You could at least give some reasoning.
