I am wondering if it is better to file by mail or e-file. A friend says there are more chances of audit if you e-file. Any suggestions?

There is not greater chance of being audited if you efile as opposed to mailing in your return. There is however a much greater chance of things going wrong (paperwork being lost, returns getting screwed up on the gov end, etc) when you mail things in.

The chances of an audit are based upon the content of your tax return. How you file isn't a consideration.
