Now, for a serious non-condescending informed answer: One of the major drawbacks is quite simply your religions. He is permitted to do this by Qu'ranic law, however, if you ever decide to marry him, you must convert. He may also have some hangups over your diet and the way you dress (he should if he is a devout Muslim.) He should be concerned with being clean, his prayer times, and trying to live as piously and submissively as possible within the Five Pillars. When the Qu'ran was revealed to the prophet Mohammad (pbuh), some very important laws were laid down. I highly recommend reading the Everything series book titled Understanding Islam. This can be picked up at Barnes and Noble or Books-a-Million. It is a very good book that explains Islam in a clear simple to understand way. Remember, we are all people of Allah, we just have different prophets and believe a little different. I hope that this has helped you.

He can always give you many reasons and most of it will not be ahead of time, because his observance of his religious practice will just be decided after he has made made up his mind if he is going to observe it or not. You are only 19 to be looking for that like your daily meals. Enjoy a period of abstinence and you will last the relationship while you age together. Do it more often now and you will find your day later on existing only for each other but hardly enjoy living together. For the Catholic Christians, there is also that kind of observation that starts from Ash Wednesday through the day of the Black Saturday. Try giving him the same reasons for your own abstinence and we will see if he will be treating you fairly. So you can answer your own question about selfishness.

Purist Muslim will definitely ask you to convert to his religion if you will marry him. Very seldom for a Muslim (Actually, I never heard yet) to be converted to another. Another thing, unless economic reason is the factor, you will have the chances of living with three other wives which is still being practiced by the moneyed husbands.
Muslims will really pamper you with all your needs and wants provided you give him children to make a family. I said children because of their sexual appetite, it is impossible for you to bear one child only.
The biggest drawbacks you will ever have would be if he is an Arab living in the United States at this time of the year where almost of their kinds are subject to suspicions.

The biggest one is going to be others' insecurities or misinformation about the Islamic faith. If you are truly attracted to this person and would like to get to know them better, it shouldn't really matter what other people think.

The bible warns not to be unequally yolked with unbelievers. You don't believe the same things, so there will always be problems, unless one or both of you renounce your religion.
