First the Beatles-John Lennon
Paul McCartney
George Harrison
Ringo Starr
Then Wings with his wife, Linda.
Then the solo stuff.
He writes his own music and wrote with both the Beatles and Wings.

In part>> Sir James Paul McCartney MBE (born June 18, 1942) is a Grammy Award-winning English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who first gained worldwide fame as one of the founding members of the Beatles. McCartney and John Lennon formed 'one of the most influential' and successful songwriting partnerships and 'wrote some of the most popular music in rock music history'.[1] Following his departure from the Beatles, McCartney launched a successful solo career and formed the band Wings with his wife, Linda McCartney. McCartney has also worked on film scores, classical music, and ambient/electronic music. He has released a large catalogue of songs as a solo artist, and has taken part in projects to assist international charities.

McCartney is listed in Guinness World Records as the most successful musician and composer in popular music history, with 60 gold discs and sales of 100 million singles.[2] McCartney's song "Yesterday" is listed as the most covered song in history and has been played more than 7,000,000 times on American TV and radio.[

I think you would get better answers in a different catagory. This is for dog questions and answers. If I were you, I would try the music catagory.
