Well, I have a 11-year old German Shepherd, and I love him a lot, and I want him to have fun, and understand that I care about him. I mean, I feed, walk, play with, and care for my dog, but is there any other way for my dog to understand? It may seem like a stupid question, but please answer it, and no rude answers. :] Thanks.

Thanks for all your answers. Yes, he is neutered, and not overweight.

If you spend enough time with your dog, pay him enough attention, and train/discipline him enough he probably does love you unconditionally. Dogs like to please, so if you give him lots of attention when he does something good this will make his day!
As far as doing the best for him, if he's neutered, had has his vaccinations and is not overweight then you are doing the best for him - tho these are not things he will understand so you won't get any thanks - but at least YOU know you're doing the right thing!

He may like another dog to play with. And a bed off the ground is good with a dog pillow

My dog loves to go for drives in the car with me, even if I am just running errands and she has to sit in the car by herself for up to ten minutes each stop. I always put the window down for her just a bit so she can stick her nose out.

I'm sure your dog loves you with all his heart. But if you want to do something extra, on his birthday you could make him a cake. See the site for 5 different doggy cake recipes. Have fun! :]

Dogs are pack animals and think like pack animals. You care for your dog by taking him out walking, playing, petting, disciplining/training and feeding him. He thinks you are his pack leader and knows you care for him. Because of that, he will naturally care for you, too.

well your dog is very old so the best way is to pay ALOT of attention to him. And then he'll see that you care alot. plus if you talk to him even though he dont understand he kinda understands in his own way. ya know what i mean?

Does he come to greet you when you come home, yes, then he knows.
Does he lick your hand every so often, yes, then he knows.
Does he go for walks willingly with you, then he knows.
A dog knows a good leader. It doesn't sound as though you have a problem.

It seems like you have been doing a good job of showing your dog that he is loved.

If you do play, talk, walk and feed him as you say; he knows that you love him. Animals are more perceptive then humans when it comes to bonding and loving.
