This is my personal belief, not the church's stated position: No I don't feel that it is as long as you treat it with the reverence it deserves and not like a piece of jewelry. As far as I'm concerned, you don't have to be Catholic to recite the Rosary. I say this because my mother is not and I taught her the Rosary.

It would make me blink to see someone wear a rosary as a necklace, since that isn't what it was designed for. It's a tool to assist in a contemplative prayer. But then again, some orders of nuns wear them as a "belt" with their habits. *shrug*

For me, as long as the person is treating the rosary with respect and not using it to somehow make an anti-Chrisitan (or should I say anti-Catholic since we're the big rosary people) statement, I don't see the harm. I'd think it a bit odd though, a bit like a Catholic wearing a Star of David.

i discover it unhappy, all of the stereotypes in the direction of Catholics. There are some issues incorrect with what you have stated. a million) Catholics shouldn't positioned on rosary beads, however there are a number of that do. regardless of the undeniable fact that it fairly is a form of disrespect. Rosaries are no longer rings, they meant as a manner to maintain music of prayers. you assert a undeniable prayer on each bead of the rosary. 2) A rosary isn't for protecting you from the devil. protecting a rosary together as attempting to conquer a temptation to devote a sin is wonderful, because of the fact it reminds you of God's and Mary's Holy presence. it fairly is a reminder of your faith. 3) I even have in no way witnessed an exorcism, nor considered a action picture approximately exorcisms, so i'm no longer able to respond to that question. 4) it fairly is a worry-unfastened false impression that Catholics worship Mary and the Saints. yet we don't. We pay honor to Mary for being the mummy of Christ. We pray to her so as that she would be able to take our prayers to the Lord. Mary (and the saints too) can hear our prayers. thousands have experienced miracles via their intercession. 5) there is greater to faith that merely the Bible.

Yes, it is inappropriate unless:
"it is actually ok to wear a rosary around your neck, or a religious metal, as long as you are wearing it with the purpose of prayer in mind, not just as jewelry or a fashion accessory. Nothing, if you are using it to pray and as a witness."- http://www.lifeteen.com/default.aspx?PageID=FJQADETAIL&__DocumentID=164081

Have a happy Easter!

It would be inappropriate for anyone to wear rosary beads. They're meant for praying, nor for adornment.

No, as they are not the only religious "sect" who uses them for prayer...

The Buddhists and others were using the rosary long before the Catholics picked up the practice...

Look it up...lots of information about them (rosaries) out there...

If it is, it shouldn't be. My mother is a Christian who has rosary beads. She says they bring her comfort.

The rosary was not originally designed as jewelry so even most Catholics will not wear one. I myself though (also Catholic) see no problem with that. If you do so please understand that you are in possession of an item we consider sacred and please treat it with respect. Peace be with you

Yes it is inappropriate if a non-Catholic or Catholic wears it as jewellery. But if he wears it with devotion I dont see a problem with it. It would be better to pray it though than just wear it.

No, the Orthodox Christians call them "worry beads" and use them to pray. They also make and sell worry beads to anyone.
