If your income is from Cash Accounts only it sounds like you are self employed, You are required to report that income just like everyone else, You should report it using Sch C and Sch SE. Along with your spouses income if you are filing a joint return. You can't get a refund unless there were taxes paid in. If you are self employed you are also required to make quarterly estimated tax payments to pay your taxes thru the year.

You can only receive a refund of the amount you paid in to begin with. Failing to declare income, regardless of the source, is a crime. If you report more income than the IRS knows about, they won't demand proof, but they will tax the additional amount.

Rob's comment about estimated payments is not entirely correct. If your wife's withholding is enough to cover your total tax liability, you are not required to make quarterly payments. That said, if you are asking this question, I doubt you are having enough withheld.

authentic the IRS is only no longer divorce courtroom. yet they are actually not likely to get apprehensive good right here - if the be sure was mentioned lost or destroyed, that they had predicament an extra one at last - however the alternative might nonetheless be in each and every names, so it does not help you any. you are able to no longer amend your return to single for people who have been married as of 12/31/2010, and it is too late to amend to married submitting in my opinion from a joint return, that would have had to be comprehensive by way of four/15/eleven. which you will desire, and argue, all you like, even nevertheless the former day's solutions do no longer exchange. The responder who says that by regulation she is entitled to one million/2 is improper, nevertheless. and what's the bit approximately deducting teen help? that may no longer deductible, so if youin case you probably did, you have have been given an extra impediment. Your in ordinary terms selections are to the two convince her to sign the examine, so as that they are in a position to probably contain some style of split of the money, or to get a come to a call to rule she has to which isn't actual companies to take place different than you supply up some thing else in a divorce settlement. You reaped the reward of a joint submitting, and don't get to now say "particular, I did, even nevertheless I additionally could get all of a few great advantages of the joint submitting" - the legislations does not paintings that way. now no longer what you may hear i be attentive to, even nevertheless it is the way it fairly is.

What part of "income tax return" did you miss?
Income has nothing to do with employment, just reported income.
Tax is what you paid.
Return is returning what you paid.
All you get is a tax credit and a possible visit by the IRS if you appear to be living beyond accountable means.
And you are able to make your wife liable for all the taxes you may owe by filing a joint return.

Your cash income is taxable, whether you get 1099's or not - by not reporting it and paying taxes, you're committing a crime of tax fraud. And if your wife files a joint return with you, she is also commiting tax fraud.

So you not only evade taxes, you also want a refund? Are you serious or just joking?

OK, call a CPA immediately. You should have been paying into social security, state tax and federal. Your wife's income would be simply a 1040 form-but, if you get caught with this cash business you will be charged and convicted of fraud. If you make interest only house payments you will never pay off your house.
