'Prepared Mustard' is any ready made mustard available in the condiment section of your local grocer. It's what you would buy to use on hot dogs?
Hope that answers your question (no question is 'Silly' if you are unsure of the answer).

What a silly question (just joking). Prepared mustard means that the seeds have been crushed and things like spices and vinegar have been added. The word prepared mean that it is not dry mustard....like anyone would think a powder was in a jar or squeeze bottle;)

A recipe will call for Prepared Mustard, meaning regular yellow mustard - the kind you put on a hot dog. If a recipe calls for Dried Mustard, they mean the yellow powdered mustard that you buy in the spice section (you wouldn't put it on a hot dog!)

Prepared mustard is a combination of spices and mustard powder along with vinegar. The spices decide whether its plain yellow mustard, dijon mustard, raspberry mustard, and whatnot.

Simple it is the yellow mustard on the shelf in the store---dried mustard is way hot so the prepared mustard is the stuff on hot dogs.

Prepared mustard — as opposed to dry mustard — is a fluid mix of whole, cracked, or ground mustard seed mixed with vinegar, wine, water, beer, or must (fresh-pressed grape juice), and often some other seasonings as well.

mustard comes in two forms....dry and prepared
the dry is in spice form
the prepared ,is the one that is better known ,it is in a jar, and you use it on hot dogs .etc.
FYI:it all comes from the mustard seed
the mustard seed is a religious symbol I believe it is mentioned in the book of Matthew in the Bible.

Yeah, what Doc said. French's yellow mustard is the most common in the US.

I would say, prepared musterd, is mustard already prepared. One buys it already prepared in a jar, in a store (-:

just a fancy way of saying it is ground up mustard seeds mixed in with a ton of unpronounceable preservatives.
