yes we must. its the law and you can get pulled over for it. i hate to, but i know i have to. we also have very strict laws on child seats and restraints. the only exception to the seatbelt law is if the car is so old (like 60's and under) that it did not originally come with seatbelts you dont have to wear one.

It is a law in most States, some places enforce it more than others. KY just passed a law that they can stop you for not wearing you belt. It used to be that you have to be doing some other violation and when they ticketed you for that they would add the seat belt fine on to it.

Movies aren't typically the best representation of real life. In the U.S., you do have to wear a seat belt. Specific laws and penalties differ from state to state.
In Indiana at least, one is not required to wear a seatbelt in a truck or SUV that has a truck license plate. However, if someone's SUV has a typical car license plate, you do have to wear a seatbelt, weird, I know.

The regulation in Australia states that the driving force is in charge for the secure practices of all occupants, which is composed of that of wearing seat belts. in case you're pulled over through the police and that they do no longer look to be, then no longer basically do they get an excellent, the driving force additionally does. So in short confident.

It's the law here that you must wear a seat belt in the front seats and children must wear them (or be in child seats) in the back seats as well.
It's just not adhered to very well

I think it is the law in every state except New Hampshire where the moto is "Live free or die" but I heard that there would be less freedom there because they are trying to pass a seat belt law.
I always wear one and am crazy about making sure my kids buckle up...

Most states, yes. The specifics usually vary, particularly what circumstances net what fine, whether it counts for points, and whether they can pull you over for it. (In Alaska, they cannot stop you for it, but if they have any other reason to stop you, they can fine you for it)
The only exemption I'm aware of is in vehicles which were manufactured before seat belts were required equipment. (And for states with replica title laws, vehicles which are replicas of those model years) So you don't have to wear seat belts in your '32 Ford, but you do in your '92 Ford.
