Yes...their first step is to dumb down children by watering down science and history. The greatest threat to religion is a thinking mind.

You can see they are attempting this as we speak with their attempts with creationism. Their harassment of gays and abortion. Both of which does not affect them in any way shape or form. They wont be happy till everybody in this country is sucking teet to their god and following their silly rules.

First off, this country is a Republic, not a Democracy. A Republic is where representatives of a people come from each state, and discuss what should be done for the benefit of their people based on popular support, this meeting, called Congress, has been divided into the House of Representatives, and the Senate. The Speaker of the House presides over the Senate. The President is the head of the Republic and is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. A Democracy is where all the people rule and everything gets done according to the people's will. Obviously, since this country is so big, a Democracy would be impracticle. Besides, Democracy always leads to Anarchy, because there will be someone, or a group of people who might not get their way and complain about the government, saying that people should do whatever they want as indviduals. Anarchy is a form of government in which the people make the law individualy, in other words, everybody does what he or she thinks is right in their own eyes. This leads to murder, stealing...etc. Until someone comes up and says that they can stop all of the crime by establishing a government under himself, that leads to Tyrrany, where a Tyrrant rules through forceful means. Eventually the people get tired of him and overthrow him, people don't learn from their mistakes and make the government into a Democracy again, and then we go through the same vicious cycle over and over again. Theocracy is a government directly ruled by God, so right now, that kind of government is impossible. A cult is a religious group that strays away from the main religion and changes it, so Christians don't have cult teachings. And Christains aren't Jedi or Sith they don't have mind controlling powers. And if you would open a history book once in a while you would find that our founding fathers founded this country upon Biblical teachings and morals, and today, we are the most powerful country in the world, God has truly blessed the U.S.A.

Power. Religious Right Power, that is. Honestly, I think the whole "turning this into a Christian Nation" is merely an act on their part to rally other Christians together. But, you have to admit, they would make damn good politicians. They know how to use lies in order to get the people to vote for their ideas. A prime example of this is how Bush used the Religious Rights claim that "Homosexual marriage will destroy the sanctity of Heterosexual marriage" (as if what 2 consenting adults down the street do has anything to do with my marriage, but I guess they're looking for an excuse for all the Divorces they go thru. God forbid they actually take responsibility for this themselves) Ol' Bush got voted in for a second term and then never said anything else about it.

America will never become a Theocracy. Civil war would definitely break out - if not with guns, then heavy propaganda.

Ah, yes, another "Bash the Christians" question. We Christians live by a standard of behavior that is at odds with the free-wheelin', anything goes, do it 'till it feels good" society that causes the free spirits to grind their teeth in hate and frustration and curse our beliefs as obsolete cult teachings. It's so easy for them to forget that this great democratic country was settled and built up by people who lived by those "obsolete cult teachings". Enjoy your Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas vacations with pay and time off.

Is The United States Of America A Democracy?

Regardless of what you may have been taught, the United States of America is not a democracy. Elements of a democracy certainly may be allowed to play a part in our government, but our government is directed by a written constitution and ruled by the laws of liberty, not ruled by the vote of the majority of the people. Our government was established to maintain liberties for all under God. The elements of worldly government (Socialism, Democracy, Totalitarianism, Anarchy, and Criminal rule etc.) are constantly being held in check and fought back from taking over by the institutions set up by the constitution. The constitution would have died years ago if this country were a democracy.

The teachings that the United States of America is a democracy can be traced back to around the beginning of the first world war. International ruling élites were finally able to get high ranking government officials to begin teaching the doctrine of democracy to lure us into participation and eventually governance by international organizations. Had we been wise we would have realized this and held out for the world to adopt our divinely inspired constitutional principles of liberty, rather than us adopt their worldly, secular organizations.

Liberty vs Democracy
The United States of America was founded upon the principles of: 1. Liberty (the unalienable right of everyone to do, be, and have whatever they desire so long as it does not infringe upon the unailenable rights of others) 2. A Written Constitution wherein we organize and support a limited government (Republic) based upon the combined right to preserve and maintain our unalienable rights (Liberty). A government limited only to the defence of these unalienable rights through the enactment and enforcement of laws, judged to be in the best interest and defence of our individual unalienable rights.

Our form of government was not established as a democracy. In fact, seldom if ever will one see reference to democracy in the founding documents of our nation, at least in a positive context. Peculiar, don't you think if we are suppose to live in a democracy as many have been teaching? Consider that in the past, we had Liberty coins, not democracy coins. We have the Statue of Liberty, not the Statue of Democracy. We pledge allegiance to the flag, and to the Republic for which it stands, not the democracy for which it stands. Patrick Henry said: "Give me Liberty or give me death!", not "Give me democracy or give me death".

It's a world wide web. Which country are you talking about?

I'm Dutch, I really didn't know this was going on in my country. Christians wanna turn Holland into a theocracy? Odd. They are the minority. I don't think they will succeed, really.

Speaking as as a Christian who is unable to exercise power over anyone else's mind. ( I have enough to do with mine thank you) This country was not a democracy the last time I looked. If you will remember the pledge of allegiance it's supposed to be a Republic.

I'm a Christian and do NOT want to turn the country into a theocracy. Or are you just talking about mind-contolling Christians?

Because we're mind-controlling, you moron! Obviously we'd have more success at mind-controlling if we could turn the country into a theocracy. Good grief.
