I believe in God and don't need a priest to be my mediator. If I want to speak to God I do so as though He is with me because He is.
I never believed in "selling salvation" that's why I won't accept organized religion but prefer spirituality instead.
If people DO get STD's from unprotected sex because their religion forbids condoms and what-not then, yes. In this case, Catholicism is responsible for spreading diseases and unwanted pregnancies among teens and many other women.
Orthodox Christian priests and many protestant church leaders all agree that God never intended for people to have children at such a young age nor for couples to have many children when they can only financially support one. God does not want any child to suffer nor does He want diseases to spread.

God overrules any priest. I am not catholic and really don't believe a lot of what they preach. I am a Christian and I do attend a large church, but the ceremonial stuff the catholics get into we do not do.
As for where does all the tithing go, how do you think they live and pay the church bills? As for their contraceptive view, I don't see any problem with them. However, AIDS is a self-inflicted disease. That sounds harsh, but aside from blood transfusions or something outside of ones control, the only way to get AIDS is through personal behavior (sex, drugs, etc). I know that sounds harsh and I've had friends die of AIDS, but they recognized it was by their actions that they contracted the disease.

The priest acts as God's representative on Earth; especially in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Catholics don't pay taxes; they tithe--which is giving a minimum of 10% to the church or worthwhile charities. This is optional by the way.
The Catholic Church isn't responsible for any sort of venereal disease including AIDS. People are responsible for making the wrong choices in regard to sexual activity. The Church has always taught that sex outside of marriage is seriously wrong for either man or woman.

Jesus is our High Priest and He passed all authority on to the Apostles and placed His church into the hands of Peter. All people regardless of religion or church pay taxes, even those who work for the church. Diseases such as Aids/HIV are the responsibility of those who engage in acts that will cause them to get Aids/HIV.Do you blame other people if you get sick or do you take on that responsibility yourself?

God doesn't exist. The church is actually telling people in Africa that condoms cause AIDS - how many deaths is it directly responsible for?
Catholics have to pay taxes because everybody does.

Catholic priests do not charge taxes. You may be thinking of other denominational churches who demand people to give them 10% of their income.
The money usually goes to those who are sick, homeless, and generally needy. Remember the Church is the biggest non-profit charity.
"Isn't NFP just another form of birth control? I mean, you're still trying not to get pregnant, so you're still trying to control it and leave God out of it."

Deacon: "

You know, some people get AIDS by being RAPED! Is your god punishing them for being weaker than the person(s) that raped them? Is that a sin? Keep your damn biblical ignorance to yourself. You do not speak for god, and yes, god has failed you. Move any mountains lately Deacon boy? Heal any amputees lately? Cure any cancer? Kept a penis out of a little catholic boy's bottom lately? Your god is a failure, and you know it!
