God revealed himself to me, and has answered my prayers. To the point where questioning his existence is an obsolete question for me. He still does!

there is no concrete proof of god, nor is there any concrete proof that there is no god, so i asked and asked and had an epiphany, then years later i doubted, then i asked and asked again, and got my "proof of faith" in a different manner. it wasn't really a decision. So I once decided to be an atiest, because in my culture, science it highly esteemed, and scientists that are atiests are considered the highest of the high. So my decision to be athiest was really only looking for a status symbol. And i was more miserable and unhappy than ever before in my life. Now I belive in god. The way I see it, we are on this earth, we have the freedom to believe in whatever we want! Why let some random person take that from you because he will judge you! And, I am happy when I put my trust in God.

i replaced into raised in a family individuals the position my mom faithfully tried to do her best for God and her fellow believers and my father replaced into lively besides. My husband got here from a countless religious heritage. We had examine the prophecies about the Jews returning to their land and Jerusalem being a key characteristic contained in the time to come back. even as the Six Day warfare occurred in 1967,( i imagine) and Yon Kippur many years later, It presented all the prophecies into concentration and we desirous to get baptised. If Jesus back then we wanted to be on his side, no remember what. to assert we are 'kept' is continually something I withstand, through the indisputable fact that's a threat that later in life we would turn faraway from God, as some have, we does no longer then be licensed of God. Salvation is difficulty to the will of God God prepared, we are able to all receive eternal life and an section in God's kingdom

love the Q. you know how when small children get raped and murdered and there supposedly a "Perfect All Powerful God" who has rules as to why he doesn't stop it. then that's enough for me to not believe in the Christian "Concept" of God/ i believe that what is behind everything is a Divine Mystery which can't do anything to change the way things are. I don't want to call this Transcendental Reality a God,because people will think i mean their version.

I was baptisted as an infant and then got immersed prior to my teen years and one day I lost my tennis shoes for school and My family was poor. I cried cause I thought I was gonna be without and mama was gonna whip me. So in my heart I cried out to the lord to help me find my tennis shoes and the yearing got great and I ask to see him face to face as if my belief wanted proof that he existed. I was crying lord why can I not see you if you are real, no response, crying stopped and somehow I went back the way I came from school as if led by something and I found that tennis shoe and as a little girl I said thank you Lord. This is the story that brought me to believe that there is a God, even though one cannot see him physically, we can truly sense his spirit.

I could go waaaay into why I now believe, after being an atheist all my life... but it's a long story so I'll sum it up.
I had to tell someone something terrible I'd done, and didn't want to, but something told me I should. I was terrified, and thought he'd never want to see me again, but I did it anyway. After I told him this awful thing, he didn't get mad, didn't get upset, he forgave me instantly. Right then I felt God, because nobody else could have given him the power to forgive me. I thought it was all over between me and this guy, today we're married. I know I needed that experience, it's hard to just commit to God if you weren't raised that way. If you ask for an experience that will confirm his existence, you'll get one (you just have to want it).

I believe in science more than anything, and that has led me to understand that there is a lot we don't know.
And, if science can't figure out, then why would we trust a bunch of religious kooks who have a personal and political agenda to be "right"? At least science will change their conclusions if they are proven wrong. Most religions FEAR the truth because the truth might not agree with their teachings.

I believe because I converted from Buddhism a little over two years ago. I believe in God because I know He is there. He is watching everyone, He is always there for everyone. Only He completely understands me. I know life can be hard sometimes but with Him i get through.

I saw Him... the fear of Him they say, in my father's eyes. God exists whether people believe it or not.
Why should we ever, ever choose to not believe in something so beautiful, so excellent, so inside and untouchable.
You want proof, evidence, a sign? Well, **** you. You, me, I, we, they, all just don't deserve the humbling it would require for Him to lower Himself to such approach. What vain, arrogant, impossibly crass little humans we are.

The feeling that the world and its people are already amazing and miraculous enough without one. That and the problem of evil, I guess.
That said, for most of us, either way, a huge emphasis has to be put on how we were raised, and I was raised atheist, so who knows?
All right, if anyone knows, people do. :)
