There is a spiritual sickness which comes from being spoonfed every Sunday. Its symptoms include dependency and biblical illiteracy. The neglect of study goes much deeper that merely prophecy: most churces are pastor centric and do not realize that they are reproduing in miniature the error of the Roman Catholic church which is clearly apostate. We are producing mini-popes.

It is true lots of prophetic things are happening today and few are preaching about it.. It is because not all Christians are called to be prophets.. Only the prophets understand the prophecies and they only understand them as they are revealed to them by god...After 9-11 god did indeed reveal to people all over the world that islam is not of god and is in fact identity theft...satan tries to replace Jesus with mohamed,,, the God of Abraham with allah,, the Bible with the koran and even say they are the true Christians and the Christians are unbelievers.. This is identity theft and is indeed satan sitting in gods seat.Sad to say some would kill the prophet as they did through out the bible rather than question their own beliefs....

It is easier to believe in the Bible than to believe what it says. It is the same with the Book of Mormon. It was written by prophets who came to the Americas from Jerusalem shortly after the flood and after Zedekiah (600 BC). It is a second witness for Christ. I find very few who have read it with any serious intent other than members of the Church, even though it clarifies many points of doctrine.

Don't want to be proven wrong again. A person can only take so many false promises before they start to see they're being lied to.
See Jesus' prediction of the end times and read his actual words, which are not subject to interpretation because interpreting it any way other than stated would mean that Jesus was not talking to living people.

They are in fact the five virgins who did not procure enough oil for their lamps while waiting for the master.
Just kidding, the real reason, as the majority of so-called "Christian" churches, still hold on to the unscriptural doctrines of immortal soul, trinity, and hellfire, they rely on their liturgy and tradition rather than buy the oil of truth and pure understanding.

1 Timothy 4:1 - 9
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

This is a good question. I study prophecy, as my church hardly speaks of it.

It is an interesting subject, but remember it is not the key focus that was given to the church by Christ.
