1. First of all the U.S. did not eat crow and feel shame about Viet Nam. The U.S. entered Viet Nam with advisors, escalated the troops, and won every major battle reducing the communist North Vietnamese Army into forming ineffective guerrilla units against the U.S. Army. Then the U.S. de-escalated its presence handing over military operations to the ARVN (South Vietnamese Army) and voluntarily withdrew. The North Vietnamese was aided by Communist China, Soviet Union, Laos, and Cambodia against the U.S. The United States was not kicked out of Viet Nam but left on its own accord.

2. The United States defeated two terrorist governments: Afghanistan and Iraq, in a mere few months. The United States rendered the Afghanistan military totally ineffective and then reduced the modern Iraqi Army, Republican Guard, down to small unit actions.

3. The insurgents are not Iraqi but a composite force of all Islamic nations in the middle and far east funded primarily by Saudi Arabia, Syria, China, Russia, and North Korea.

4. The democratically controlled Congress is obstructing and micromanaging the U.S. military in Iraq.

5. The United States is fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq with its reserves and National Guard, essentially defeating two nations with one armed tied behind its back.

6. The U.S. is not using its entire military might of biological, chemical, and nuclear warfare or major combat troops to remove everysingle living being from Iraq!

7. The U.S. Army in Afghanistan, Iraq, and hopefully Iran, has no cause to feel shame.

8. Do all the dead terrorists cause shame for Insurgents?

Think about this for a moment can you change someone else .
The answer is no . Even the best intentions and rational can not make people change .
Now picture a nation , not an individual , now make it change .
Guess you can not can you .
How can you accomplish the impossible and because it is impossible anyone who labors at an impossible task is a fool and anyone who orders others to do it is a criminal who deserves to be removed from office .
Our military is to destroy the ability for another nation to wage a war against America not an occupation .
Thats why our constitution says in the pre amble to provide for the common defense . If any nation where to attack us we have the ability to end their ability to continue to wage war .
We bomb and destroy every highway, road, bridge, building, ship, and rail line .
This ends that nations ability to wage war .
The troops have no supplies and the war ends in their death or surrender .
Thats what a war is .
It is not about forcing people to change .
In fact that causes resistance .
Resistance to change is what people are all about .
Who likes the New owner, boss ,manager, supervisor ,if it is not one of your close friends .
So you complain if new people take over bossing you around .
Now try to boss a nation and what happens .
The same thing as all battles like this one .
Boundaries and boarder changes or with agrements to end hostile and resistance or Just leaving .

This is similar to a cop in a domestic violence dispute at someones home .
They come in and assess the threat level . If it is high they handcuff the individuals in the home . Then depending on the situation one of the members is forced to leave or goes to jail .
Now which half of Iraq is going to jail or leaving .

Do you get it now .
War is a bad Idea in the first place and only to be used defensively .
We are not an army of occupation and change .
There is a big difference between ww2 and today .
Tens of millions of people died .
This lead to people who where whipped and willing to live under an occupation . They had felt the pain and surrendered .

I raq IS not the same . No matter what we do we can not achieve our objective .

We only went there to topple Saddam Hussein's regime. After that, there apparently was no plan other than to hold elections. The Bush administration thought these people would be so glad to be rid of him that things would all work out peacefully even though they were warned by some very knowledgeable people that it would all fall apart. They didn't take into account that the only reason Iraq was semi-unified under Hussein was his iron fist.

If the U.S. would have completely overtaken the country, set up the government, and then turned it over to elected leaders, it might have worked. Now we aren't even sure who the enemy is. In fact, I don't think we are even viewed as the enemy. I have no idea how you can win in a scenario like this without killing many civilians in the process. A quagmire for our military. Its really up to Iraq to fix it now.

Like in Vietnam, politics are tying the hands of the military behind their backs. Too many rules of engagement, and everybody is crying to bring everyone home when we need to be sending more troops over there.

Also, the insurgents fight like p*****s. Look at the huge percentage of troops killed by roadside bombs. That is their most effective tactic because they can sit half a mile away and set off the bomb, and then run and hide. They use women and children as shields. They are all cowards.

Also, who says we are losing the war? What is the score?
We plaster the number of US troops killed all over the media, but when are we going to hear the number of insurgents killed? Never. The liberal media doesn't want us to know that because then their bit**ing about how we are "losing" wouldn't be justified.

The most powerful military on earth? Wow, u must be delusional!!! The reason the insurgents are winning is because they have basic weapons, (they don't break down), wear blue jeans and tennis shoes, ( u cant tell the insurgents from the regular civilians), and fight for free, ( u cant defeat, or demoralize someone fighting for their home). Remember one mans terrorist,(insurgent) is another mans freedom fighter. These people are fighting on their land, in their country, for their family and homes. The American armed forces are there because they have to be, and they no longer believe in the cause. That is why they will be defeated.

because what we call an insurgent is basically any and all Iraqi's. To win a civil war where there are no well defined sides and shia's kill shia's etc etc. They all have a small town agenda. Sort of like if New York were up for grabs and the 5 burroughs were at war. If you were from a foreign country it would be incomprehensible.

This due partly to the undeniable fact that the liberal portion of our u . s . a . is so disillusioned whilst a civilian is killed. they have positioned handcuffs on the way the protection stress is meant to combat. you're no longer allowed to return hearth even though if it fairly is coming from a team of civilians, esp females and youngsters. So now what's the soldier meant to do? They the two die or retreat. undergo in recommendations the uproar concerning to the Israeli's and the Hezbollah's and how the click and liberals could rant "ohh, those undesirable civilian and those nasty Israelis!" they does no longer hear to the undeniable fact that the enemy had their weapons hidden interior the process civilian objectives shooting at protection stress objectives. it is not substantial how super a protection stress or protection stress you have, if the politicians attempt to run the protection stress with out having the certainty, they are going to screw it up merely like they do each thing else.

I find it funny how you say you've been in the military but you lack basic military understanding. Insurgents fight like little f*cking girls. They place roadside bombs and sit under a tree a mile away with binoculars and wait for a convoy to pass. They wear blue jeans so they can blend into the population, so they wouldn't have to fight us head on, which to me implies that despite their religious beliefs they are afraid to die.

And how I know for sure you weren't in the military is because you say we "get paid big time"!!! HAHAHA, yea 12 grand a year is just short of what P. Diddy brings in. You're a f*cking joke. Do the population a favor and bite on the barrel of a high powered gun.

That's the benefit of guerilla warfare. It takes away the military advantage of the superior military force. It's kinda hard to distinguish between civilian and enemy when theyall look the same and live in the same neighborhoods. Also, our military is under extreme scrutiny to not kill civilians, which greatly hinders it's effectiveness. Our rules of engagement are way to strict and need to be laxed a lot.

On the otherhand, the terrorists have no rules of engagement and do not worry about killing civilians.

I am a out of shape 57 year old. I can beat up almost any person if their hands are tied.

Change the rules to define the enemy as it is, islam. Then make the targets mosques worldwide. Declare open season on anyone with a prayer rug. Make possession of the koran an act of war punishable by death by beheading publicly.

Lets play by the same rules.
