yes bleach does fry and kill your hair.
however if you deep condition once a week and don't straighten your hair that much, it wont be as bad as ppl make it sound like. and considering it'd be your first time, your hair won't be that fried. however your hair def would not be as silky as before.
i think you should go for it as long as you take care of your hair afterwards. its always fun to do extreme changes :) you shouldnt hold yourself back, especially if you're just gonna do it once.
oh but dont forget about roots. its a ***** to constantly rebleach and you're not really suppose to be bleaching your roots anyways.
but...other than that..go for it! haha

It's generally not the bleach that is so bad for your hair, it's the level of peroxide the stylist uses to activate the bleach that kills your hair. Developer (peroxide) comes in 4 levels, 10 volume, 20 volume, 30 volume, and 40 volume. A LOT of under educated stylists are taught in beauty school that 40 volume and bleach is perfectly fine to use to highlight hair (it develops much faster). The slower your hair takes to lighten, however, the less the damage. I would never let a stylist use anything higher than 20 volume on me (though I prefer 10) and never go under the dryer. It's your choice whether you do or not (the heat speeds up the process, and faster means more damage). You can achieve the same level of blonde with a lower volume developer that you can with the highest, it just takes a lot longer.
As long as you are an educated consumer, it should perfectly fine for you to have your hair highlighted. Also, if your hair has never been colored before, they can use a high-lift color, which is 40volume developer with permanent color to lighten. It tends to lift warmer, but doesn't use bleach to remove the pigment. This is the only instance where 40 volume is a good idea.
I hope that helps some!

Bleach is the most damaging of all hair dyes, I've had mine bleached 3 or 4 times in my life and it pretty much ruined it.
But if you do it only once, keep in mind that it will stay there until you cut it off, or grow more hair.
The problem is that it makes you hair very dry, burnt and you get split ends easily.

bleach does not ruin your hair. if you go to a good salon it should be fine (especially, like someone else said, since you have "virgin" hair). if you dye it after (and you might want to let it rest for a bit in between) either get a more expensive hair color and make sure and use the conditioner they give you, or go to the salon again and have them do it. you can occasionally use a hot oil treatment if it starts to frizz a bit. mine never did. i didn't get an insane amount of split ends and my hair didn't "break off leaving me virtually bald". i've bleached my hair lots and it was always fine. i definitely recommend going to a pro though.

honestly it is bad for your hair but if you get the right shampoos and conditioners on your hair you will be fine. at the store there is alot of options you can do. if you want the best i would call a person that works at a hair salon probably a more pricy one they tend to know a lot about hair
i hear avacados work wounders

you can put lighter highlights in your hair all over and it will help make it look lighter. i did this and it looks good. i did like a light red color and i bleached a couple pieces but i recommend not using bleach. its not the greatest choice to make. if you put too much on it, it can fall out.

I prefer hair which is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like ladies are more often then not straight, they like long hair because that looks more feminine, as most men have short hair.

If you have black brown hair to get it lighter it usually goes red if you do it too light. I don't mean a pretty red. Go to a professional you will be glad you did.

If you have 'virgin hair' it probably won't damage it that much. But if you don't take care of it properly, it can turn silky hair into a ball of fuzz and split ends!
