Romans 1:22 - Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
1 Corinthians 3:20 - And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It is not logical to assume that what you perceive as a hole in the theory of evolution must be plugged by God. If you'd ever actually studied evolution, instead of listening to the one-sentence definition that your minister told you, you'd know that it accounts for the "creation" of life. But you might have to actually read a book to know that.
Even if evolution was proven to be 100% false, it would not prove creationism. Why couldn't there have been a different God who created us? Maybe Satan? Maybe the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Maybe we were sneezed out of the nose of the Great Green Arkelseizure? Maybe we don't exist at all?
Darwin was the first to say that if some flaw in evolution was found, throw it all out and look for something new. I'm 99% ositive that evolution is how we got here. I am 100% certain that it was not through the hand of God as told in the Genesis story.

Thats the point. There DIDNT 'need' to be a divine intelligence in order for life to evolve. See, your version requires the presence of a supernatural being with powers that are beyond comprehension. Ours requires nothing more than the various chemicals that make up the universe and are utterly within comprehension.
Your version relies on faith, ours on evidence. This is why 'a lot of atheists' think they have a corner on logic.

To objectively examine any subject, one must be free of any preconceived beliefs or prejudices regarding that subject. The word "atheist" identifies one who is not a theist. Therefore, no dogma to cloud their judgment.
All people are born atheists. Many are taught to follow a certain religion by their family and community. If a child from China was adopted by a Christian family in the States, they would very likely grow up Christian. Similarly, a child born to Christian parents but raised from birth in an Islamic community would follow that belief system. Luckily in the west, we are more free to question what we perceive as illogical without much fear of reprisal.
I think that nothing will make someone an atheist faster than reading the bible - without someone else like a priest to 'interpret' it for you. Read it. See the horror. Ask yourself, "Is this real?". Read Sam Harris, read Richard Dawkins. In a sense, you're already an atheist. Do you believe in Zeus? Who are we to say that the ancient Greeks had it wrong?

Well if you think a cell evolved into the universe, you clearly don't have any logic at all. The first cell on earth evolved just like every other living thing, it evolved from simpler things (eg. DNA, RNA and complex amino acids, which in turn evolved from simpler amino acids which have been found occuring naturally). Remember, on a planet that is 4 billion years old, life probably first occured around 3 billion years ago, the first multicellular organism wasn't till 2 billion years ago. It took a third of our lifespan 2 evolve into cells.

Yeah, and then the atheist mentions that that doesn't make any sense at all. There's no evidence for a god, plenty of ways the cell could have come about naturally, and if intelligence needs an intelligence to design it, what created god?
Logic is your friend.

Here is the proof that atheism is logical:
1. There is no logic in believing in a god of any sort
2. All believers are therefore illogical.
3. Some people are logical
4. So the only people left to be logical are atheists!

Silly Shirley, atheism has nothing to do with evolution. Tomorrow, a scientific discovery could proof evolution to be completely false. And God still wouldn't exist. We could find out that life on this earth was created by little green men from Mars. And God still wouldn't exist.
See, it doesn't really matter where life came from, because no matter what, God doesn't exist.
Think about it. A belief in God is the most absurd concept in the world. Its so completely ludicrous that I can't even think about without shaking my head and laughing. You believe in God because you are completely delusional.

Are you kidding? If god does exist, it's only in the imaginations of those that read the stories about god. There have been zero manifestations of god (christian, hebrew, or any variation thereof) in any form, person or animal, that have been confirmed by any reliable source. I'm sorry, but if the book you're quoting also says that you can move a mountain by telling it to move, it is not credible and does not count as a reliable source.

logic is only as good as the information you base your reasoning on.... Once you begin with the lies and errors in the bible a christian literally sounds insane... One does not have to believe in god for it's existence.... Atheists are more prone to believe what they see rather than what they are told... for that reason alone they are closer to the truth.
PS... the so called biblical god does sound desperate for people to believe don't he?
