A customer was in here today trying to tell us that by changing "AD and BC" to "CE and BCE", it is a sign of the apocolypse. Do Christians seriously think this??? I'm kind of appalled, it's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I hope everyone knows more people besides Christians exist in this world.

But Christians don't bother to think that other people are not Christian, the seem oblivious to the notion. So many get really freaked out when I tell them I am not. Like I am some kind of freak or something. They seem to have the idea in their head that everyone is a Christian (ignorant, close minded opinion if you ask me!)

I don't think it's a sign of the Apocalypse or anything like that, but I do think it's a stupid idea.

If we're going to change AD & BC to CE & BCE because the first two have religious connotations, then why aren't we changing the names for the days of the week and the months? Those are currently named after pagan gods and therefore have just as many religious connotations as 'AD' and 'BC' do.

Ad and BC insult the Jews, or so they claim. They prefer instead- BCE=before the common era, and CE=common era. To them the old way is blasphemous. To Christians the new way is blasphemous.
How this will play out, hmmm?????

Another thing here that everyone does not understand- Jews hate Christians, and Christians love Jews. Don't forget that!

The common era and before the common era thing is just yet another attempt by non-Christians to remove Christ from history. It won't work though. Jesus Christ was and still is the most influential person in human history. The Bible says that in the end times, many will fall away from the faith. This is another example that the apocolypse can't be too far off. Yes, unfortunately most people will not accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and end up in heaven, but it is their choice. I hope you will make the right one.

Tell him that CE means Christian Era and BCE means Before Chistian Era. That should make him happy.

Throughout Christianity Christians have been pointing to signs of the coming Apocalypse. So far so good though, phew.

You think after the black plague wasn't a sign, that a calendar change wouldn't worry them as much.

You would have to be pretty obtuse to lump all Christians in with some extreme beliefs. As a Christian I absolutely do not believe that's a sign of the end times, nor do most Christians I associate with.

I have no idea. That is pretty weird. But then again some people are extreme in their beliefs.
