out tracks, I take it from them, we're all in the same boat, trying to get people saved, so why won't y'all take them?

I do go soul winning and I'm a Baptist by the way. I've noticed that ONLY JW and Mormons refuse our tract and won't talk to us. I've had other Christians come to my door and I listen to them and they are thrilled to hear that I'm saved and a Christian.

Thanks Hannah for explaining why without being snippy. Anyone from the Mormon camp care to join in?

Our tracts from my church tell you how to be saved, its from the Bible, so we're not trying to convert people to the Baptist church, only trying to save souls.

That is a fair question and I have seen it come up before. There really is a reasonable explanation, though.

There are two scenarios: one where others (such as the ones you mentioned) wish to give Jehovah's Witnesses tracts at the door when the Witnesses come out in their door to door ministry. The other is when these ones actually go out in the door to door ministry themselves and call on the Witnesses at the Witnesses' homes.

Now, in the first scenario, and in all fairness, Jehovah's Witnesses do not come to a person's door to receive tracts. They come to a person's door to share the good news of God's kingdom with the householder. They have made the effort to come and visit the householder despite the negative aspects. Therefore, when they get there, it is pointless for them to take tracts from the householder who has made no effort at all. The householder has simply opened his door.

Now the second scenario: suppose Jehovah's Witnesses are visited at their own home by other professed Christians? They are now the householder and usually are delighted to have the opportunity to talk about God and his kingdom. But they probably will not take the tracts. Why not?

Jehovah's Witnesses take quite seriously the words of Christ Jesus at Matthew 7:13-14 - that there is only one true road to everlasting life. They do not believe that all religions are simply different roads. Having seriously studied the Bible, and continuing to do so (for the study of God's word is never over), Jehovah's Witnesses truly believe they have found the truth, like Achtung mentioned above. That is not so hard to understand. If one is serious about his religion, that one ought to believe it is true, yes? Countless many Jehovah's Witnesses have already come out of these other religions. So reasonably, there would be no benefit or advantage in their taking the tracts and reconsidering what they have already learned to be untrue.

I hope this helps you to better understand. But, if as you say, we are all in the same boat trying to get people to seek salvation, why do we all differ? It only leads us back to Matthew 7:13-14, yes?

I wish you well.

How often do you go "Soul Winning?" Jehovah's Witnesses regularly go door to door as instructed by Jesus Christ. The Mormons also proseletize their faith. I was a Catholic and became a Jehovah's Witness after investigating a number of religions. I have read the book of mormon, I have read material by the Dalai Lama, I studied the pagan religions, I read the Book of the Dead, I even looked into the Baptist faith. I looked everywhere. I even tried to understand the reasoning behind the Atheistic beliefs. Although they reject religion or God, they can't even explain how the universe and life began. I was taught that the Bible is God's word and the things written in it make complete sense. Do not steal. Do not commit adultery. The Catholic church was a huge disappointment for me. The leaders within the Church would look the other way when things like pre-marital sex were going on. They said one thing and did the other. I don't think God is a god of compromise. In fact, he has not changed. After investigating a number of religions, I can state that I will continue to study material that explains the scripture clearly. This doesn't apply to the atheist obviously. As for me, I will no longer look into other faiths because I have found only one group of people who use the Bible exclusively as the source of teaching. It is true that we have tracts and booklets. No matter what the topic or question, the Bible is the ultimate reference. It is not a matter of "Soul Winning" as it is important that honest hearted ones know God's purpose for the earth and human kind. Clearly it is presumptuous to think that by stating we are Christians we are automatically saved.

(Zephaniah 2:3) “3 seek Jehovah, all YOU meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably YOU may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger.”

Please notice the word PROBABLY. "Soul Winning" does not guaranty that a person will survive Armaggeddon.

I always invite JWs in when they come around. I look for the positive and if it is overwhelming I find no need to read the negative. Almost all sermons I have heard and read from salvation groups and literature is the quotation from Ephesians
that says we are saved by grace and not of works lest any man should boast. I was ousted from one group when I suggested they read the next line that says we were created unto good works that we should walk in them. The big hue and cry is that we are not Christian because we take the next line seriously. Grace enters in when we do as much as we can, ourselves. I will read a positive tract anytime if it is based on truth, but most tracts I get are negative and distorted. I am told falsely what I believe and then am chastised for it.

Some will take your tracts. Many people from other faiths won't take JW or Mormon tracts either so I guess it all equals out.
One reason they may not take your tract is that they do not want to waste your time.
Another reason is that they may think they already have the truth so they don't need to read your tracts.

No. together as i'm specific that (with some exceptions) maximum sects of Christianity have been began by potential of individuals with good intentions, they are nevertheless run by potential of individuals. all and sundry is fatally unsuitable, and there is often somebody accessible who needs to abuse those with faith, to apply it to have potential over human beings. Is my faith the excellent one? i've got confidence it fairly is rather close, and so a techniques as i understand, there is not any longer something that i'm no longer able to substantiate biblically. it rather is the substantial section - the bible, Christianity, God, and Jesus get a foul rap particularly oftentimes because of the ideals and practices of one sect or yet another, which, to boot to being irrational, or merciless, are no longer biblical. all of us who's exploring Christianity with an open recommendations could do nicely to observe out for individuals who're merely employing faith to workout administration. they could do nicely to envision the bible for themselves, ideally a "study bible", that incorporates reasons of cultural transformations, and context interior the writing, which could be difficult.

I imagine that some Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses don't take tracks from other faiths for the same reasons that people outside those two faiths don't take Mormon/JW tracks. Many of us are quite happy with the faith we're in, and view it to be the truth.

Yes, I'm a Mormon who does believe in the doctrine of the Mormon Church, but I have also studied other faiths (including taking pamphlets from JWs, and even took a one semester class in college on world religions). I'm not looking to change my faith; I do that so I can better understand what others believe and why they believe it. Among other things,
I've found that it makes it easier to explain my faith to others who are interested, because I can draw analogies with what they believe. (That, and I know it annoys the heck out of me when I see people who make no effort to learn about what I
*really* believe make statements about my faith that are obviously false to anyone who'd take even 5 minutes to investigate the Mormon Church, so I try to not repeat that mistake with other faiths.)

If you had a diamond that was worth millions would you trade it for cut glass?

We as Jehovah's Witnesses have the diamond, there is nothing else better than serving Jehovah and bearing witness to our God Jehovah and his purposes affectIng mankind. We base our belifes soley on the Bible.

We worship Jehovah as the only true God, and do not in volve yourself in the politics or wars of any nations.

Nor do we take part in any pagan holidays.

Can you say this is true of what you believe?

Can you think of any other religion consitantly that goes door to door preaching the word of God? ( This is what Jesus said would be true of his followers, he set the example for us)

Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth and we go door to door looking for interested ones.
If you have a tract to share, what is stopping you from going door to door preaching the Good News of Gods Kingdom?
We as Christians were commanded by Jesus Christ himself to do so.

Why Should they? If they already have a religious faith that they believe in, why would they take religious tracts from another faith, particularly one with different beliefs?
