No cats and dogs can get along fine. It just depends on how they've been raised. Of course your dog may not be as friendly to cats he doesn't know.

I got my poodle mix puppy when I had 4 cats in the house. I didn't want to allow him to sleep with us and when he first came home, he cried all night from lonliness. The cats would cuddle with him and act as a surrogate litter. I never knew if they were being kind or just trying to shut him up!
A decade has passed and he still acts like a cat and loves cats.
I got a new dog a couple years ago. He was just a pup and raised with one cat and my older dog. He will try to catch and kill a squirrl, but he thinks cats are just great. He's even tried to convince the cat to play with his chewy toys!
I think dogs and cats are just like people. They all have unique personalities and are products of their environment as well as breeding. If a dog happens to like cats for no particular reason or if they have been raised by cats, its as normal as a dog who wants to eat a cat.

He might just have puppy breath. This should go away. If it doesn't in a few months try checking out a different food. Keep up with brushing his teeth regularly thats great! And the dental bones are great. you can also get doggy mints lol. If his breath is still kickin he might need a vet check up! lol. If his breath is just disgustingly bad smelling and it smells like somethings decomposing he could have an infection. This goes for the ears too and just about everything else. Good luck!

not really, some dogs like cats and some cats like dogs, sometimes they dont agree, it just depends on the dog/cats personality
it is a lot easier for the owner if the dog and cat do get along tho so count your blessings

No not at all. goldens are know for excepting other animals into their homes. The are one of the most tollerent breed to cats and other small animals. This doesn't surprise me a bit.

its not unusual its lucky!! i have a dog who wouldnt let a cat anywhere near him unless it was for breakfast!! i think as long as the animals are used to each other from a young age they should always get on ok.

A friend of mine had a cat and dog that played together and when the cat died, the dog mourned and she had to buy him a kitten.

No, it is not at all unusual that your dog and cat are friends. I have seen female cats nurse puppies who have lost or been rejected by their mothers and vice-versa. Domestic dogs and cats are not necessarily natural enemies.

No it is not strange you should be thankful that they get along. My cat gets along with my dogs but when my grandma comes to visit and brings her dogs (she has 3) the cat even gets along with them well except one of them. But its is god when they get along and keep one another company.
