The top sign for potty training are:
Staying dry when changing his nappy
Him telling you he needs a wee

If he's started any of these then he may well be ready. There is no harm in trying him now though! Try sitting him on the potty before each nappy change. You may give him a book to read whilst he's sitting on it, sing songs etc. As soon as though you notice him getting bored take him off. Remember the more fun you make the experience the higher the chance of him doing something. If he will not tollerate the potty leave him for a few weeks and try again. Never force him as this will make the process longer and so much harder for the both.
And remeber, give lots of praise, encouragement and don't get stressed if he doesn't take to it (he will sense this). Hope I help.

My son is 2 1/2 and he's only somewhat interested in potty training. 15 months is really early for a boy-they usually take longer than girls. Don't rush it. Give him time and slowly introduce it. He'll go back and forth for a while-my son's biggest problem is that he doesn't want to stop playing long enough to go use the potty. When he's 2 or so, get him a potty and put him on it at certain times of the day-before his bath, just before bed, right after meals-and let him get used to it and take his time. He'll let you know when the time is right to really get into it.

I would go ahead and buy the little potty just so that he can get used to it being around. I would not even try until he is 2-2.5. Little boys are very hard to train sometimes. Make sure sure that he is dry for a couple hours at a time and goes pee all at once before you start training. There are tons of books and websites to help you out. I like www.babycenter.com

There is no fix age for potty training. Your child needs to be ready first. Check out the following site for the 15 signs of potty training readiness.

My wife and I had the same question when our child was younger... the parents just have to be patient and loving through this process... success is NOT in how fast the child learns to potty, but rather success is that the child learns to do it PERIOD... Time is not an issue here... some children are amazing and learn at a year old... still others are amazing and learn by the time they are five yrs of age... it depends on the child and when the child feels ready... if you try to FORCE the child, it could delay the process due to the stress of HAVING to perform... take your time and let time do its work. Keep calm, be consistent, and love, love, love that child... sooner or later the child will succeed in this area of being potty trained. Hope this helps to relieve some anxiety on your part... God bless...

No. Its too early, 18 months at the earliest, you should help too it shouldnt just be your husband and your child will show you when hes ready. He will gain interest in the potty. At best i would have your husband take your son into the bathroom when he goes pee and let your son see... if your son takes interest in how he can do it too.. then and only then try potty training. Your son HAS to be ready to do it you CANNOT force him into it and there is NO certain age range.

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont force your son into potty training!!! let him tell you when the time is right!!
When your son shows an interest in the toilet, when he can stay dry for more than 2 hours, if he wakes up dry - those are signs the time is right.
you shouldnt be worrying about potty training until hes 2and a half to 3 years old.

If its before that age, or before he does any of the above. you'll just be wasting your time.:)

You're supposed to watch them for signs that they are ready. My son was ready at 18 months. He started sleeping all night through without wetting his diaper. He was telling me when he went pee and poo. He was ready and it only took him about a week before he was completley potty trained. Most kids don't reach this point until they are about 2 or so. Our daughter is 2 1/2 and she still isn't ready. Whatever you do, don't force it on them because it can cause other emotional issues down the road. Let them come into their own, they will let you know when they are ready.

I had a friend who didn't get her son out of diapers until he was 4 1/2 and he was just fine. He simply wasn't emotionally ready to potty train yet. I tried to encourage her and she told me to shut my mouth. I did and he is now 12 and perfectly fine.

Just let your son be himself, he will let you know when HE is ready.

when he seems ready, mostof the time that closer to 2 years and sometimes even later. My 1st was 3. 5 but my 2nd son was 22 mon he just was ready and let me know it. My sister was 16months becasue she had 3 older brothers and sisters and a attitude that said " if they can I can" so she did.

So its up to him , let him give you signs and ten its like puppy trainning ita 100% effort on your part to accomplish this. A sticker chart helps. Handg it in the bathroom and give him asticker every time he goes, when he fills up so many give him a small trat of some sort. and sing the "potty song""lol

A lot of the time kids play at first sooy ou may wan to just introduce him now and not push.

Also some kids dont care for the little potty chair at all and skip over that if you let them. They sell potty inserts for big pottys. Also putting a kid on the potty backwards gives them more support.

I started potty training my son the day after his 2 birthday. He just never got it, and I did keep on trying, until one day (literally 1 day) he just understood everything. After that one day, he just kept getting better and better. He finally got the idea around 2yrs. 9mts. It took along time, but I'm glad I kept going. I know a lot of ppl that don't even try to potty train their kid until sometime after 3. I think it's best to try and start off early so they will get use to the idea as soon as possible. Good luck:)
