TAX BREAK. Well , but if you later decide to have her hit the streets, you will then have to pay for an expensive divorce and this will offset the money you saved on taxes. So, stay single, put your money in an IRA and be happy.

Tax breaks for one. But seriously, marriage offers more than just sex or some one to care about and marriage goes beyond the first stirrings of love. With marriage there is comfort in knowing someone loves you even if you fart in bed, that if tomorrow the doctor was going to tell you were dying she'd be there for you and she'd be heartbroken you were dying. There is a certain kind of comfort you get with marriage that you cant get from living or dating someone If the marriage is good then there is a comfort in exploring new things together and somone just to hear your feelings without judgeing you for feeling that way. This person you marry if you can make it work will be there til you go to your grave they will know more about you than any living soul there is and still love you for it. And you do the same for them. Not mention the children that come from a union like this you bond over those kids and watch them grow together oh hell this is just to hard to explain to someone who doesnt even seem to like marriage.

when 2 people get married, they have someone there to always love them, be there for them, and watch out for them. when your single, sure, you have friends to do all this, but it's not the same. married couples can cry with each other and laugh with each other. most friends arn't going to come over right away and stop what they are doing to sympathize with you because you had a bad day at work. also, the biggest benefit, (in my opinion) is that you know someone else loves you. not loves you as a friend, but truly loves you as a person and spouse. that is the greatest feeling in the world.

A benefit is having a life long partner. Plus you have a legal bond you don't get if you are single.

The median age of death for unmarried men is 57. The median age of death for married men is 75. So you can add almost 20 years to your life by getting married if you're a man. If you're a woman, it only adds about 3 years to your life.

Same as for a woman...aside from marriage being a way people express committment for each other, there are tax benefits, spousal benefits, inheritance, insurance, support for any kids the couple shares, etc.
There are a range of (legal) benefits to being married, that aren't available to couples who choose not to marry.

nice question... well for some men it's the constant care, cooked food, etc... that they don't get constantly being single
some men get it being single... so i guess there would be no point for them....
but also there is the factor that there is joint property and you just can't walk out and leave each other etc...
i guess everything though is all relative in terms of the benefits!!

Well, you get a tax break. And if you fall in love you may have to marry a woman to keep her. In theory you get the benefit of guranteed companionship and a sexual partner. Otherwise, not much!

Honestly ... none, but if you really love someone it's a strong symbol of your devotion. In the end, a marriage is just a piece of paper and some rings.
