Tribal land is covered by treaties (what little wasn't taken from the Indians) so they have fairly sovereign rights on what to do on their land.

If you're a US citizen, your income from anywhere is taxable. If you won the jackpot in a lottery out of the US, you'd owe taxes on it, so you'd owe if you win at the tribal run casinos.

Now, Thomas, I think you know the answer to this one! The government gives the tribal casinos exempt status because of the treaties set up with the Native American years ago as compensation for throwing them off of their own land. Since Uncle Sam isn't that benevolent, he's going to make sure that he's going to get money somehow from the gaming income.

Because we raped , pillaged, and stole their land. Didn't you go to school past 5th grade or at least listen to Iron Maiden at some point in your life?? We have to pay taxes on everything!! It's just something that has been happening now for over 200 years.
