Not a cornish hen but a hen. Does the term "hen" apply more to age of the chicken?

Hen is normally older bird. used for baking and stewing.

A hen is a female chicken. A rooster is a male chicken. A cornish game hen is just a different type of chicken, like rhode island reds or bantams.
