Milkshake
3 scoops ice cream
3 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons instant malted milk powder
1 tablespoon instant pudding mix
Put ice cream and milk into blender.
Blend on highest speed for a few seconds.
Add vanilla, malted milk powder, and pudding mix.
Blend again.
You may also add fruit if you like.
The pudding mix is what makes the shake thick so add as much as you need to make it as thick as you prefer, or not as much if you like less thick shakes.
You may add more or less of any ingredients, to your prefered taste.
Make it as you like it and ENJOY!

Well, I don't know how they make perfect milkshakes in the restaurants, but I've found that just kind of doing your own thing makes the best milkshake.
I never measure things exactly when I make them, I add a splash of whole milk and add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream (Costco's is the absolute best)
Then, depending on what flavour you want, just add that flavour to taste. If I'm making a strawberry shake, I like to add fresh, whole strawberries and it makes it taste better, not artificial.
If I want chocolate, then I use Hershey's chocolate syrup, the flavour is just better than any other brand. You don't have to be exact, just mess around with it and taste your work in between adding more flavours, that way you know if it tastes right or not.

Use whole milk and good ice cream to start with. Use a good chocolate syrup or melted chocolate. Make sure that you have a good ratio of ice cream to milk. Some malted milk powder is always yummy. Blend together and add a dash of vanilla. For granita or water ice, take fresh fruit, mix it with Pelligrino and put in ice tray to freeze. Every 30 minutes or so scrap the contents and freeze until solid. The scraping allows crystals to form and softens the mixture for eating. You can make granita out of anything from espresso to fresh strawberry. Add sugar to the mix and there you go!

firstly, don't skimp on the ingredients. often people think because its a shake you can use cheap ice cream ingredients. i don't know what flavors you like, but one of my favorites is this: bluebell homemade vanilla, with a little milk (evaporated or sweetened condensed if you want it richer in flavor and texture)sliced strawberries, a banana, about a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring and about 3 tablespoons of malted milk powder. place the fruit, milk, and flavoring in the blender first, and pulse until pureed, then add ice cream and blend on higher speed ( frappe or liquefy) until the desired consistency is reached. i don't have exact amounts because its an individual thing, but once you start experimenting you will get the idea. also try adding other flavors or bases like coffee or pineapple, or cookie or toffee crumbles. for those though, add the crumbles at the very end and blend on slower speeds in short bursts.

Well, i've read through your answers, and all are good. Can I make a suggestion? My dad used to make the BEST peanut butter milkshakes. A few big spoons of peanut butter to vanilla icecream and some 50/50 milk in the blender! OMG! To die for!!
