need information on Sharp cam recorder model VL L80UB?

I need to know how to MUTE the recording mic.. I am recording a very old 8mm from a very old projector and I do not want the noise tobe recorded.. Can anyone help me... I sure would appreciate any help on this. Thank you in advance

Use the audio dubbing feature: when an external microphone is connected, only the sound through the external microphone is recorded. So connect the microphone, prevent the sound from reaching it, then press the AUD DUB button to start dubbing (silence) during playback.
