Well, we (obviously cannot speak for everyone), do eat Fried chicken.
Yams are available but mainly in ethnic outlets (sweet potato is very popular though).
Collard greens are similar to our Spring Greens which are enjoyed and plentiful.
Gizzards are not a popular dish. Majority of people do not like offal. I'm one of a handful who actually eat and enjoy the neck, gizzard and heart from a chicken, duck, goose or turkey!
The closest we have to chittlins is tripe - the lining of an animals stomach. Tripe and onions in a creamy milk sauce with mashed potatoes and bread and butter is delicious!!

Enjoyed the cornbread served with chilli in Marie Callender's. It was similar to our Madeira cake. Although I know that in the Southern states it is fried similar to corn fritters.

Have to hold my hands up to not knowing or hearing of scrapple though!!

1. Chicken, no not any more. All produced in factories now & tastes of nothing.

1. Yams, yes can get them.

3. Have heard of collard greens. What are they?

4. Gizzards are where birds grind their food before they digest it. I don't eat them! Do you?

5.Chittlins. What are they? Chitterlings are/were a type of offal here. Don't see them now.

6. stri. What is this?

7.Cornbread. Can get it, but our bread is made from wheat. ( USA wheat mostly!)

8. Scrapple??

Ok?

Only ever had fried chicken but prefer to roast, grill or steam chicken as it's healthier. Heard of yams but never tried them - the closest I've got to them is sweet potatoes which are really nice. Never heard of or had any of the other stuff

The Americans have sent us enough crap in the shape of McD`s without us having to eat your Southern "down home" cooking - do you eat deep fried mars bars, pease pudding, jellied eels, pie & mash?
