What do you think of the man and his work?

He turned me off at first. Once I read his works, I was very impressed. He is "marketed" as an "angry atheist" but he's really not at all. He is quite patient in his rebuttals of theism, he just doesn't suffer fools gladly.

I find his approach intelligent, witty and compassionate. I'd recommend "The God Delusion" to anyone at all. I tried "The Selfish Gene" and although I like his concepts, it was a more difficult read.

I would recommend the clip on his website when he, for about an hour, patiently answers students questions from Jerry Falwell's university. Inspiring and funny stuff.

I think evolutionists and atheists are very condescending. They seem to think that if somebody does not buy their theories some how they are intellectually deficient. There are and were many scientists that have critiqued the theory and exposed the many holes in it.
They always site the vast amount of "evidence" that they feel is so strong that to even think of picking it apart piece by piece automatically brands one as being ati-science.
In short the atheistic evolutionist relativist does not have to abide by any ethics or any objective moral code outside themselves, they simply believe it doesn't exist.
They have life before their very eyes yet actually believe its first cause was not a thinking being but a non-thinking lifeless piece of matter.
In other words a big kaboom! poof! and there was life!
Intelligent?
Abstractions such as justice and liberty were not evolved. In fact life with out God would be an injustice! The murderer and the righteous would have the same end. Death with no accountability.
When considering evolution, concepts such as liberty and justice are meaningless and unnecessary.

After all ,only the strong survive.

Good man, nice man, had the balls to tell it like it is and analyze the flaws in the arguments commonly used in for the existence of God (although he definitely follows more on the Christian spectrum of it, but then again they are the loudest in voicing their opinions on the matter...).

Some people think he's arrogant, but I'd say it's just because he's so vocal and SO DAMN GOOD at destroying debate opponents. He's brutal in absolutely every debate I've seen or read him in.

Brilliant. I am currently slogging through The Ancestor's Tale.

Simple language but still absolutely brilliant.

I've been interested in reading "The God Delusion," but this city's libraries only has 4 copies of it. And there is a long waiting list to check it out....I'll check back with you in a couple of months when it's actually my turn to check it out.

He's brilliant, although a bit strident in presenting his arguments.
