Interesting description. Most patients describe it as like swallowing broken glass.
Plenty of cool fluid, ice or ice cream can all be soothing. Hot fluids and sharp solids are worst and you can avoid them.
Gargling with aspirin is a no-no, it is locally irritant and actually makes things worse, salt gargling is also no longer advised.
Throat sprays like chlorseptic and diflam are often useful, both are over the counter medicines.

Lozenges and tea will help soothe the pain, but it always returns. As with most colds you have to ride it out. Also try gargling with warm salt water (mix hot water with table salt, let cool, gargle for at least 30 seconds), it helps kill off germs and is a little soothing.
If it persists for a few days go see the doctor, it could be strep throat which sucks, I had that for a month last summer.
Hope your feeling better soon!

Buy some medicine. Or u could just buy some mint tea, honey, and lemons; you make the tea, you put about four or five tbl spoons of honey in it, then you squueze about three and a half of lemons in it... and you're done!!! take some halls, too...

Drink hot drinks, hot water with lemon, gargle with hot salt water, as hot and salty as you can stand it.
Eat toast, that will literally scrape your throat as you swallow it.

You need to go to a doctor cause if it is that then it is a source of mold and it is one that just doesn't leave on it's own.
It will go away with Meds
