I notice how it's decorated. Not in a judging kind of way, just because I'm always looks for new ideas.

I notice the smell. If people have animals, that's fine, but their houses shouldn't smell like they do. The hard thing with that, I guess, is that they may not notice. I think, any house should be febreezed or freshened with LIGHTLY scented candles before guests arrive.

Another thing with pets...if the host/hostess has cats, I'm EXTREMELY aware of what I'm eating. Cat dander is hard to control.

That's pretty much it. I'm not one of those bathroom snoops. I also try to gather information about the host/hostess that might help pick out a thoughtful gift if one is ever necessary. Maybe a set of bar glasses they don't have or a bottle of wine they would probably like....or something from Yankee Candle if his/her house stinks :)

It depends on your mood ? More of the crowd .If you want to go to a loud and noisy party then the crowd has got to be rowdy and fun . If it's a chillax one with loads of socialising then the crowd has got be laid back as well . The food and drinks maybe. Most of all the host of the party has to make us feel comfy .But me and my boyfriend ususally go for the food and drinks while my friends go for the drinks!

The people I am going to meet (their expression, their tone of voice, their posture and manner of moving and their clothes); their friends/other guests (as above); their decor - the furniture, plants and flowers, floor and wall coverings etcetera; the smell of the house; their books and music collection...how clean the place appears to be.
Oh, and the food and drink on offer!

I notice the smells. There is nothing worse than animal or unpleasant odors. Even if the place is spotless, a bad odor ruins it. However, if you can smell yummy food cooking or scented candles, it makes the place seem warm and inviting.

Being a librarian, I tend to look at the bookshelves, if any are in view.
