Even if it isn't on the list ,though, I would not recommend feeding Purina to your dog because cruel animal experimentation has been observed with the Purina company.

You can go to PETA's website to see which companies test on animals.

So far, Purina one is perfectly safe. Purina has only recalled one product, the mighty dog puched food, and they did that voluntarily, after testing, it is fine. You can check menufoods.com, or delmonte.com, for a complete listing, you can go to www.fda.com

There are lists out on the web -- the original menu foods recalls are at http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_dog.html
MOST dry dog foods are not listed.
There is also a biscuit recall affecting several brands:

The common thread as far as we know right now is WHEAT GLUTEN. I am checking the ingredients list for all my dog foods and treats and wheat gluten is a no-go for me. Wheat itself is FINE even though it contains gluten -- the FDA and researchers are narrowing this down to one or more foreign substances found in wheat gluten imported from one or more companies in China. It's something in the processing, not something in the wheat.

My friend from south-central Kansas finds this ironic and annoying. Pet food and treat manufacturers in a major wheat-growing area of the U.S. with access to locally manufactured wheat gluten have been importing it from China instead...

Corn gluten is not implicated. Most dry dog foods use corn, not wheat, gluten. Whole wheat and whole wheat meal are just fine. DO NOT GO BY BRAND ALONE, read your ingredients lists as well as the updated recall lists.

We feed dry so I wasn't worried, but my dogs now say that if this makes me not give them their bickies, they are gonna sue for pain and suffering!

www.hubpages.com has a list of foods that are not involved in the recall and Purina one is on the list of good foods.

final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days there grow to be a considerable concern with the distinctive uncomplicated canines nutrition manufacturers being contaminated and distinctive canines and cats did die. i think of IAMS grow to be between the manufacturers and doubtless Pedigree besides. they are the two food market manufacturers and that i do no longer feed the two to my animals. mutually as they could at present be secure to feed on your animals, that doesn't recommend they are high quality meals. those are quite lots the precise rung of crap you are able to desire to purchase on the food market, and that i'm valuable somebody else will respond with quite a few extra effective canines nutrition manufacturers including Innova Evo, Blue Buffalo or others. I feed Royal canines, it incredibly is approximately midling in high quality, yet there are some scientific subjects for my animals so they had subjects with the distinctive extra effective meals i attempted and that's what we discovered that they could consume and nonetheless meet their dietary desires.

If you are referring to the recall, and your food is a dry food, then yes, it should be fine.

Although, there are higher quality foods out there that you may want to look into if you are asking about nutrition and the every day ingredients in the foods.
