I have A 97 Intrepid, its been running fine. But I got up this morning to leave, and it would not start. IT turns over but just will not start.

My daughter had the same problem with her 97 Intrepid .. was the connection on the coil ....

Is the battery over three years old? If this is the case, then I would replace it. A weak one will let the car turn over, but not start. Worn plugs will also cause a no start and should be changed as normal maintenance. Another possibility is a broken timing belt.

Sounds like no spark. Check the coil and ICM. You may even have a loose or broken wire in the circuit. Check the fuse panel as some vehicles have an "ignition" circuit fuse or fuseable link.

I had the same problem with my Hyundai Elantra last week. It turned out it was a crank sensor that was broken. My mechanic said it's a common problem, and it was only a $150 part. (+ $150 in labor, of course!) :)

If it turns over good, then your battery is OK. If it has gas and spark, then you might look at the timing belt.

Could be a weak fuel pump or plugged fuel filter.

Maybe you need a new battery?
