I have a big grey cat too I named him Jack Rouch after the NASCAR car owner. I choose the name because it had a story behind it Rouch's nickname is "cat in the hat" and a connection to Wisconsin sports.

Here are some other names I thought about (I took out the sport names)

Dr. Suess
Ash
Ole' Blue Eyes
Harry or Hairy for Harry Potter
Mew-Man
Milkweed (because he was so fluffy as a kitten)
Bugs (his grey fur looked like Bugs Bunnys)

Also here is a database of cat names that was given to librarians last year for the summer stuff.
