i have been struggling with these verses,in particular verse 21, what are your thoughts
Jesus' words in Matthew
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, BUT ONLY HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

It is not enough to claim to be a Christian. Do you show the love of Christ in how you live your life? Do you help the needy? Do you sacrifice? Are your morals pure? Christ is not interested in empty words but in how your actions reflect His teachings.

There are many "Christians" who think they know Christ when what they believe in is a man-made religion based on the name of Christ (Lord, Lord).
There is no going to heaven or hell when we die. This is the whole purpose of the resurrection. We lie in the grave until the resurrection.
There is no "rapture." Where is this mentioned in the Bible?
The anti-christ is not a man, but a government.
This is just a small number of examples.
No wonder the Bible tells you man will be deceived.

...Matthew Chapter 7 is a set of "things" (believers) need to understand and grasp..."Judging"...? it's not the place of a believer to Judge... God will judge...but remember...if we do Judge...we will be judged by God in the same way.... Vs.6 don't give what is holy to pigs... Again for (believers)...what a believer has is "gold"...not actual golden nugget ts but Spiritual Gold... non believers are "pigs"... don't place your pearls of gold around a pigs neck... the "pig" doesn't have a clue what you've given him, nor does he care... God is saying, yes, there are those who just won't believe...Oh well, don't give your spiritual gold to them...!!! Vs. 7, 8 &9 talks about the power of prayer... again to a believer...all this is for those who-believe... the things of the Spirit are utter foolish ness to the spiritless man... Vs.12...self explainitory...Ummm.
Vs 13..it's a narrow path that leads to Heaven... not many are going to find it because of their non-belief... vs. 15... so man will say to God... "Oh God, I was "good"... good has nothing to do with "belief" !!! Oh God, I did so much good in your Name... (No if you don't believe you didn't)...you got your rewards here on Earth as a "BIG SHOT" religious person. unless you are doing it to glorigy God.. He doesnt care what you did)... But is is simple... read Romans, Chapter 1 vs.16.

It is the seperation between the true lambs of God from those who only wear the outer clothing. There is a difference between those who claim Christian, go to church on Sunday's and speak of Christianity as the only way.
True Christians wear their faith from the inside out. The let the light of God shine out from inside them. They do not move people by their words and empty promises but instead by their actions.
So, what is being said here is that God, on the day of judgement will seperate out these two groups. Those who just looked Christian and those who really were.

The key to understanding the verses is to go back to verse 15, where (in the original language) the paragraph begins. "Beware of false teachers...." The subject of verse 21-23 is not "Christians", but false teachers. Jesus warns his disciples that there will be false teachers, they will be recognizable by their "fruit", and the just because they call him "Lord", or claim to do miracles does not mean that they know him, or he know them.

There are many who PROFESS to be Christian, but Christ also said that faith is nothing without works. We also have to stand back and take a look at our religion and see if it is in harmony with the Bible. A lot of people think they live in complete harmony with the Bible's words, but don't. These are called hypocrites in the Bible. We also have to ask ourselves, Are we a part of this world and false religion?

One thing to gather from verse 21 is that not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is a Christian, and this come from Jesus Christ himself. It is a verse often ignored by atheists when they claim some villainous person is a Christian.

Jesus spoke to the Jews who would not accept him as the messiah after his death, burial and Resurrection. If you believe in him you are exempt from this pronouncement. The Jewish leaders of the day followed the Torah, many perfectly, but Jesus came to fulfill scripture and knew that because he was not establishing a kingdom for Israel on earth, which is what they desired in the messiah, they would not believe on him. Although they would continue to follow the law of Moses, they would not accept salvation through Christ. Mostly because he was extending himself to the whole world! That defied their belief as the chosen ones, for they did not fully understand the prophets, like Isaiah, when they foretold that God would extend himself to the world through Christ. True to this day.
Attributing this to how well we walk in our faith is a mistake in understanding that Christians have. Mostly it comes from guilt preaching. Jesus saves to the utmost. None can pluck us from his hand and he is able to keep that which has been committed to him (our souls) against that day (judgment.) He desires that we do good work in our faith, but your salvation is sure. You cannot do good works to buy your salvation. People who have interpreted the scriptures that way need to reread the passages in Hebrews about faith without works being dead. It was meant to convey that our faith does need action, but our salvation is not contingent on the work we do. God activates our faith and works through our actions, yes, but his salvation is sure. No one in Christ will be surprised on judgement day. In fact, we will not even be judged! The white throne judgement is for unbelievers. We will be given crowns of glory for our faith and works, but we will only cast them at Christ's feet anyway.
Rest in the Lord and be comforted. This scripture was not meant for you.

They may have prophesied the word , but have not truly believed . Like those people that claim to heal . It's what is in your heart that will God see.
