Possibly because......

Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Many other narcotic pain medication in pill form contain caffeine to potentate its effect. I take Fiorinal with codeine for migraines. It contains caffeine as well as the pain relievers for the reason I mentioned above...to potentate or add to the analgesic effect of the medication.

Again...a possibility since coffee has caffeine.I don't drink coffee so I have no personal experience.

There is a certain amount of caffeine in both. When you put the two together, the caffeine is multiplied. FYI: I took that for several years and developed an allergic reaction---itching--- to it. Check with your doc IF YOU WANT TO and ask him about Hydrocodone/ Ibiprofphen. I recently had a Spinal Cord Stimulator Implant and battery / generator revision surgery. It was very successful (80% out of 100---no one gets 100%) success rate. The pain medicine works wonders.

Coffee does nothing. You are simply paying more attention to yourself.
