the audience's right or the actor's right? because if it is the audience's right, that would be the actor's left.
The devil is usually depicted first, and the devil is usually on the left side (to the audience), and the angel appears later on the right side. Moviemakers do this because people read from left to right.

Maybe because most people are right-handed, so they want an 'angel' guiding that hand....lol
Or
The left side of our brain is the supposed 'creative side'.
Apparently, everything in our world that comes from creativity is gonna send us strait to hell... ;-) That is, music is from the devil. Movies are evil. Etc... etc... So obviously, the devil would be on the creative side. LOL! great observation!

That comes from many relegons such as christianity and islam that the right side of everything is the good side and the left side represents the devil in everything.

Makes sense.... if it's the "right" thing to do he better be on the "right" side.
and it would be the viewers right so we would see it on the right.... or else it wouldn't have the same effect... i think : ]
